Am I going insane or does Mccree take less damage during his ultimate? Two games in a row I should have instantly deleted a braindead Mccree who thought he could stand still near an enemy and press Q. Only to see him tank a fully charged hanzo arrow to the face. Please tell me I’m wrong.
40% less damage and his ult shoots faster
Can you believe theyre still saying he’s trash? LOL
My blood pressure has been raised
Why are the devs trying so hard to make him accessible for bad players?
It takes longer to lock on to a target enough to do their full health. Not faster.
He isn’t useless, but there are many better choices than him.
I think they meant the actual fire rate once you click to fire the ult, it feels more instantaneous now instead of the progression from right to left in OW1.
The actual charge is slower, it doesn’t ramp up until 2 seconds instead of the previous 1 second ramp up. Just get to cover and he won’t be able to kill.
Imagine if he’s also nanoed…
Well that isn’t a change in the patch notes, so
It should be the same as live.
It was in the patch notes, back in April, check the april patch notes for the beta.
wait my b lmao thought you were the other person haha
Damage reduction is capped at 50% so it’s kinda a waste. Nanoon works better on live than on beta due to the ramp up changes.
Ah, wasn’t aware of the cap. With less shielding I expect it to be pretty deadly (unless the new maps offer a lot of quick natural cover).
Well that’s good to know but if I’m a squishy it doesn’t make much of a difference.
That isn’t the problem. The issue is Mccree should die for executing an awful ultimate. That one ulting Mccree who survived to me was an idiot who tried to flank noon in my team’s spawn and I promptly walked behind him and headshot him only for him to turn around still holding and kill me to my confusion. Sure had I known a single headshot wouldn’t have been enough I would have dumped him full of arrows but other heroes on the roster literally lack the combo potential to kill a 225hp mccree with 40 damage resist on their own before getting nooned. It’s terrible design. Especially when he could get healed on top of that.
Mccrees ulting should almost always be shot at, not avoided.
That is where I looked. It says nothing about fire rate.
Deadeye
- Now grants 40% damage reduction while channeling the Ultimate
- Damage now builds at 130 damage-per-second for the first 2 seconds and then at 260 damage-per-second for the remaining duration
- Maximum duration increased from 6 to 7 seconds
- Ultimate cost increased by 10%
Yeah I immediately replied again saying sorry, thought you were talking about the charge rate change not being in the patch notes, that’s my bad. But I can actually assure you it does fire faster, even though it’s not in the patch notes. I just tested it out in the OW1 and 2 practice ranges, it’s way more rapid fire in OW2, I encourage you to try it out, too.
Maybe I’ll see when I’m home.
guess the cre… wait, cassidy mains
You must mean this instead, right?
The 2 seconds totally makes a difference. Unless you’re in a totally open area, you should always be near some natural cover that you can get to before 2 seconds are up. There are also abilities like ana’s sleep or moira’s weaken that now have a bigger window to counter his ult.
It’s the same in OW1 where it charges faster, you should be running to cover to respect it as a zoning ult instead of risking the shot. The whole “some characters lack the ability to kill Cass when he’s ulting” thing is the point, it wouldn’t be a zoning ult if you could immediately kill him and get rid of the threat, just respect the damage reduction and get to cover so he doesn’t get a kill. Once he’s done ulting, then you can punish his poor positioning. It’s the same as a sniper holding a line of sight (except he doesn’t have to aim because it’s his ult), just respect the line of sight for those 7 seconds. I’m not big on the damage reduction either, I think the damage reduction on his ult and roll are lame buffs to the character, but don’t call it terrible design when the ult that’s designed to zone people out can now more effectively zone people out.
No I mean a Mccree player who thinks they can just stand still in the open oblivious to where enemies are should die. Like they have been for six years. There is no defending a 40% damage resistance on a hero during a multi-target aimbot kill ability.
