No seriously, is this what happened? With all these stun complaints, did you guys take even a second to realize she walks into YOUR effective damage range to do so? DROP THE SHIELD AND START SWINGING FOR THE HILLS! She’s dead in 3-4 swings. Even with her self heal and shield bash, thats a 10 second window (soon to be 12) that she can be brutally punished for getting in your face.

Wouldn’t her shield-bash connect before or after his hammer hits? His swing is fairly slow.
People do mention an attacking Reinhardt is more effective, too, but that’s not really feasible if you can’t be sure your healer will be backing you up.

inb4 ppl say what about the rest of rein’s teammates, well a stunned rein is like a rezzing mercy. he’s a beacon for the enemy team to focus on.

Yup. Rein can’t go full ham with his hammer if he’s not being pocketed by a main healer, otherwise he’ll die really quickly.

And this is why people need to learn how to use the environment as cover. The shield isn’t the be-all-end-all for protection. Brigitte has to come towards Rein to use it, so kite her into a spot where dropping the shield wont affect you then destroy her.

assuming its not a coordinated team that jumps on rein and its just a brig and one or two other people, i usually do kill the brig in a couple swings but i see a lot of reins just start backing up and disengaging when a brig comes near them.
the only combo i wont go near is brig+mccree. Stun > FTH > FB > FTH e__e
Healers SHOULD be pocketing a focused target. Not having healers in this meta just means throwing, as it always has.

Don’t forget that you can charge right after she shield bashes and there’s no way for her to protect herself.

Don’t forget that teams are more than just two people. If one hero needs pocketing and will die without it, that’s leaving the rest of the team without a healer.

that’s what happens ideally when the rein themselves put their own barriers down. but it’s just an ideal. brigitte isn’t the only one you’re thinking about for the entirety of the game.
plus you really think brigitte is going to be kited on her own? that the rest of her team isn’t going to follow her? trust me whether or not a brigitte is kited her team should be near her. if they aren’t that just bad positioning on the brigitte’s part

True. But if you lose the rest of your team while you’re pocketing your tank, the result is just as bad. It’s better to balance your heals throughout the team as much as you can afford to.
There is often someone next to her as well. The barrier for all its faults really is needed to keep Rein alive, drop it at the wrong moment and you get eaten by Junk, Hanzo and whatever else. If in doubt keep it up.

Then you should also look at your comp and ask the team why you are solo healing or why weren’t people positioned to minimize damage?

This is the problem right here, without his shield his team is an easy target.
Oh how many times haven’t I died because our rein drops his shield to dps and an enemy Widowmaker clicks headshots when he does.

If I see and combo like that on the other team I personally switch to Orisa. Rein can handle most fights if you get aggressive but people also need to know when to SWITCH.
I ask myself that all the time!
