compared to a single player game certainly not but maybe a online service game. how many call of duties has there been and are they all different. i always thought they were the same. even halo back in the day.
i played a lot of halo 2 A LONG TIME AGO but when 3 came out i was like meh… i played it and was like neat its a bit different but i didnt as much since i thought it was the same. also at the time i was BIG into world of warcraft
Interesting, then the “launch” of OW2 has been a flop.
The artistic flavor of the story missions are 10/10. Gameplay is 3/10.
Like the hero balancing is actually garbage for legendary PvE. Some heroes just aren’t viable and have nerfs that carried on from the PvP patch notes. Mercy has 25% dmg boost and the GA CD nerf if she sling shots. WTF why is that in PvE? She needs 50% dmg boost, instant e rez and the best version of GA for PvE. But no, they kept in her clunky movement for PvE.
Then there is Tracer who has her bullet dmg nerfed to 5 while the grunts all have armor (dumb should be 7-8 dmg per bullet). They had talents in the 2019 Rio demo where you could either have Tracer’s blinks auto reloaded her gun or chain-reaction pulse bomb. She has neither of those in 2023 rio added to her kit. She also needs 200 hp because too many things one-shot her like a quick melee from a tping stalker (not the execution).
They had no many creative assets already built to expand hero kits for the PvE only. Zarya and Winston had great april fools patch changes. Genji could have his sword beams, Mei could have her ice nova or Snowball.
But no, they just get slight number tweaks and have their clunky PvP nerfs transferred over to PvE.
how can you call something that existed before early access???
with the release of the version of PVE we are getting (or not getting if you dont pony up $15)…otherwise known as archives…all we have is OW1 again (poorly monetized)…it was supposed to be what separated OW2 from OW1
The plan, and original announcement, iirc was that PvE was to be in the game at release. Obviously, they couldn’t manage that and knew that leaving OW1 in a content drought for another 2 years would have killed it off, so they released PvP as “early access” to give players OW2 to play and give the devs as long as they need to release PvE without going back on their claim.
It’s obviously meaningless and we, as players, know that it wasn’t really ever early access. PvE was just outrageously late.
Wasn’t the Rio mission already playable in 2019? And that was with the talent trees.
So… they gave us two brand new mission, and a mission that some people already got to play.
The missions are such a disappointment, the limited character pool is fine for the story mode, but for replayability it sucks, especially since we don’t have talent trees. Also, we can’t even equip skins on our characters, which again, sucks, even in most single-player story driven games they allow for some kind of costumes/character customization, so… why can’t I equip the skins that you have the audacity to overcharge us for?
His quotes are confusing because, this game isn’t new… I don’t understand this whole learning process nor it being out of early access. You can flood gimmick like content, but what makes the difference is the quality and not much has changed for me.
Honestly i need to see it to believe it, the game still looks unpolished, the overall quality is still lacking both in game play and balancing, the new game mode is underbaked and plays like that grabage mw2 game, the map design for that new game mode is poor and visually cluttered, hands down this game is in early access still and from what it seems like its only gonna go down hill from here on out
They took away the “early access” sticker even before the launch. It only appeared once during an announcement. There was no mention about early access ever since so…
And let’s be honest, calling it “early access” or no longer in early access is not gonna change anything.
The mission mode menu alone disappoints me because it makes me think of what could have been. What’s there is cool, it’s just too bad 99% of it got trashed.
early access was always a butt covering term they made up to excuse no pve on launche, despite having relegated it to a paid event mode well before that.
ow1 launch to ow1 sombra release was a bigger shift in polish and content than ow2 early access to full release and ow1 never called itself early access.
you can’t tell me that a patch + 3 archives mission is the complete package we waited for 4 years
because it was put there so bootlickers could excuse every problem with “it’s early access” and “it’s not a sequel yet, it will be when pve releases”
you know the answer btw, he still firmly believes this is a sequel.
also, i know he’s funny but you dom’t need to have him rent free in your head like that
