With 25 million players queues shouldnt be an issue right? The excuse for implementing forced cross-play in OW1 was to cutdown on waiting times. But now there is no need to force it right? … right?!
I just dont want another handicap while playing with console player. Many share the same sentiment. I’ll even take reduced BP experience no problem.

This is incorrect. I solo queue on PC and regularly wind up in games with console players. The cross-play icons don’t lie.

No, it’s always been the same. Just because you solo queue, doesn’t prevent another PC player grouped with a console player from being in your match. So even solo PC players can have console players on their team due to another PC player bringing the console player in.
And honestly its only a problem when they play dps heroes or aim intensive heroes. If the console player picks Moira or Mercy or Rein, it’s not that big a deal. But if they pick Widow or some other dps, then yeah, you’re gonna be annoyed.
The inability to a d spam or turn quickly is also a massive detriment to console people slithering their way into PC matches.

You can only get console players on your team on PC if they’re grouped with other PC players. Console players also cannot join PC competitive games.
The cross-play icons also indicate people playing from other regions on PC, not just other platforms.
Cross-region is the more common one between the two in my experience.
You have it reversed. A pc player can q into console players no matter what. A console player can only q into pc players if they’re grouped with a pc player.

Ish, If a PC player groups with a console player they get dragged into the PC pool. Other PC players queuing in unranked have zero say in them showing up in their matches. They can however hit P look for those console peasant icons (its that double arrow looking thing next to their name <->) on their team and drop match though.

PC players cannot avoid console players. Console players can get into PC lobbies if they are queued with a PC player.
Easily solved by just giving them their aim assist
They can play the game and you don’t have an instant loss game
