Devs missed the point, people want OW prime back

People don’t like the current version or OW classic day 1 mode what people want is like season 10-15 ish era of prime overwatch where they figured out all the starting kinks and silly stuff but without newgen additions auto healing, easy mode heros, rank changes. but like as the ACTUAL GAME and not some haha back to the past arcade mode…
This is when skill was skill and your mistakes actually mattered your positioning mattered. not brain off waiting for life grip immortality or clense because you dont care enough to learn the game. not standing in the open against rein with shatter or an anti flying at your forehead

I’d play OW1 again if it was OW the day before OW2 came out.

Wasn’t perfect.

Definitely had some new frustrations added.

But it also ironed out a lot of kinks with a lot of heroes.

Alternatively, who cares? It’s fun to be goofy?

That was my exact thought yesterday, but today i really enjoy patch 1 ow

This exactly. Hero stacking got patched out of the game really quick for a reason. Having only two functional supports doesn’t help matters either. At the end of OW1, the game was smooth and the characters were varied. Granted it had MAJOR issues, no amount of nostalgia will change that, but there was nothing like charging in as Rein Zarya with your duo on Kings. Or not having to worry about falling over all game because your only tank decides to fail at flanking. The only change I’d keep from OW2 is the deletion of 2CP. Those maps can stay gone thank you very much.

Yeah. Only if Orisa and Sigma get deleted first.

This is OW prime to me.

Yup it feels like they set this up to fail as if to say “look how much better it is now” playing OW Classic was a remonder how TERRIBLE OW can be, 5 dps players every game is not fun. Im oray9ng they make RQ week better

exactly its like look how bad it was as some cope to make the current version look good

The sad thing is I’m enjoying release much more than OW2 as a whole. I’ve pretty much solely played classic, even with its flaws and lack of hero limits. It’s fun to play around with because it’s an arcade mode. That’s all it’s meant to be. We all know this isn’t how it’ll be. I’m just excited to play through the various versions of heroes again!

One thing I truly miss about OW1 is each hero having their own distinct identity. Even if there was a frustrating mechanic like getting frozen and killed by Mei, I’m still having a literal blast and love that she has her freeze back, even if it’s just for arcade. I’m excited for D.va to get her first rework to make her useable. Definitely can’t wait for Symm 2.0. Torb’s armor packs are SO broken with the knowledge we have these days. I love having Torb or Symm on release with the knowledge I have these days. Teleporter is incredibly broken when also paired with Mass Res. It’s kind of crazy how much we undervalued multiple aspects of old versions of heroes.

Yes, many of these things feel very frustrating, but no matter what, it’s never enough to make me say I don’t want to play anymore, and I’ve always felt that way about the game throughout OW1 (less and less as the identities were lost or skewed, but never gone). Even 4s DM D.va never sent me off the rails. They all felt unique and distinct and I always felt like I needed to change up my own gameplay or strategy to beat X hero. It’s so refreshing and fun. I never feel burnt out because I’m constantly having to adjust. These days, every hero feels the same and has the same style abilities. It’s boring. Nothing to change or adjust outside a select few heroes.

Q: Is Overwatch Classic the team’s answer to bringing back 6v6?

A: Overwatch Classic is separate from our broader 6v6 plans. Overwatch Classic is meant to be a nostalgic experience, taking heroes, players, and the game back to moments in the game’s history for limited time events

This mode was clearly stated it has nothing to do with the discussion about 5v5 or 6v6, that they are still going to go through with their plans but this is a seperate for fun nostalgic mode.

Most players aren’t taking this seriously as a “6v6 test” because it was never billed as such and is obviously not balanced at all.

the real 6vs6 test they will do will suck anyway, passives will stay and all the stupid changes done since seaon 9, so enjoy ow classic, is a lot better than any 5vs5 patch
