I guess one question is whether their intent was to increase tankiness with this change, because the only real losers here seem to be other tanks… and Lifeweaver.
TRACER.
The reason is Tracer.
Poor Reaper also caught in that crossfire.
Totally, hopefully they buff him hard.
Ashe and Hanzo are critical hit focused, so not an improvement.
Cassidy doesn’t really care one way or the other, but same amount of shots in this patch as with the old patch; so no improvement.
Junkrat did get buffed, but he doesn’t knockback tanks much anymore.
Partially true. Certain heroes that do 100+ damage are actually based on over time damage than burst-damage, however.
Critical hit focused heroes, don’t really see much changes, overall, however.
Yep, but also Hanzo is a critical hit focused hero, and he doesn’t really do much damage unless he critically hits and eliminates the target, or he’s firing off his ultimate.
Cassidy is okay for this, FTH is better. Mei is okay for this, and Torbjorn would prefer using his shotgun. The rest definitely want to land headshots, and they’re not seeing much improvement here.
It was lower than that; 91 with reload plus a 30% reduction is 63; now it’s 45.
Yep. Kiriko does even worse, too.
No, he never was.
At a 10 second cooldown, it lines up with all other Tank defensive abilities. It’s easy enough to impair or shutdown a Storm Arrows attempt. Moreover, at a 30% reduction you only get about 260-ish damage. Now, it’s more or less the same damage on all Tanks.
Sigma isn’t a damage buff, he still doing the same output as before. At 1.5 seconds per shot and two shots per round, it’s not an increase. Moreover, he can’t critically hit. Additionally, since his Gravity Surge doesn’t target health directly, but by percentage, there’s no real change there.
In most Tank vs. Tank fights, he’s moderately improved, but will still struggle against doing damage on Orisa, or Ramattra.
Not really.
Yep.
Yep. Pulse Bomb is more of a threat to Tanks, and more difficult to defend against, besides, than anything else.
It is an improvement. Hanzo and Ashe scoped in headshot damage is more than before.
It’s small, but Cassidy headshot is greater too. His body shot is considerably greater.
Which might actually help him
Again, review the numbers.
These are the types of explanations that simple brains like myself need on these forums
I actually think the most effective way for Cassidy to tear apart a tank is using his right click (when the tank is in close range), in this case the damage is increased by 28% according to the form. (Which is totally not “Cassidy doesn’t care” this dude mentioned)
Yin is just gaslighting us.
In most Tank vs. Tank fights, he’s moderately improved, but will still struggle against doing damage on Orisa, or Ramattra.
He does more damage against armor. That’s called a buff.
What I don’t understand is this:
Like, I know Yin is disingenuous, but to state it like you implied Sigma attacks faster or something?
Obviously he still shoots 2 per round at the same rate. However, each shot is doing nearly 30% more damage. From 38.5 to 50.
So, as you stated, Sigma is getting a pretty substantial buff against armor tanks. Not sure how this can be argued against.
And that translates into how many fewer hits against who?
It makes most rapid fire weaker. Soldier though gets out with a buff naturally
Roadhog and Mauga get a nerf, kinda for Roadhog. The big pellets aren’t nerfed.
Edit, wait they are I think. The big pellets do 15 damage if memory serves, so they are weaker than before
Not shooting the tank is why guys like Roadhog and Mauga never die
So rapid fire does less damage and headshot damage was lessened by 25%. That to me means that Tanks got a big survivability update both from high burst and rapid fire.
Seems to me like the true victims of this change are the non tank heroes with armor since even if you can do more damage to tanks in some cases, they are tanks…they have abilities to mitigate it and tons of health, plus supports.
Brig has her flimsy shield, Bastion is a big target practice dummy, Torb is torb…only a bit weaker.
If you look at numbers sure. But he still needs 14 primary fire volleys(even if you throw a rock at him as well, though there is apparently a bug with the armor so it may be slightly different when that is sorted) to kill a afk Reinhardt with no supports.
So it doesn’t really translate to a big change to his effectiveness at killing armored tanks, he’ll just suck less at it.
I don’t think Bastion did. Soldier, yes
Soldier and Bastion are basically the same hero, now that Bastion has a grenade option in his kit. So they did in fact both get buffs to armor. They both got a slight damage increase in primary fire as well. Bastion’s ult definitely got a damage increase.
My enjoyment of the forum has gone up immensely since I blocked Yin and no longer have to scroll past their stupidly long replies to 20 different people, with terrible opinions. You should try it.
