In the recent livestream, the devs said they will use map pick data to figure out which maps they need to rework when the map choice is a voting system. Can you guys do that for Heroes now too? Freya needs a rework. Its not her damage thats the problem its her kit is problamatic by design.

How is it problematic?
Momentum manipulation mid air multiple times isn’t a fair mechanic to engage with when 90% of the threats a player needs to be looking at become off-screen when trying to engage Freya. Her movement is far too controllable and her resets she can get are wild. The character is broken by design. The only way she will be acceptable is being nerfed so hard she isn’t played anymore. This is what happens with conceptually broken characters. They only state they can exist in is hyper viability or useless trolling because they gut damage. For example Brig was broken for a very long time because they just played with numbers instead of addressing her broken kit. Which they eventual did and now she isn’t too bad. Freya needs something similar. They have to rework her. Otherwise its just going to be degrading the max value she can get until others can do it better and she won’t be viable. Its happened in Lol and OW before.

Freya hasn’t even been out that long, they’re still going to be tuning her anyway.
Besides-she isn’t even broken right now, she’s a literal glass cannon. Good god just learn how to counter her

I called immediately what the reworks were going to be. "oh place a bit of cover here, a bit of cover there.
Absolutely nothing changed. Same with junkertown. Those 2 and circuit are still just perma sig widow maps.

I’ve had no issues. If we have a hitscan, I go torb so we have the turret as cover-zero problems. Anyway, I’d rather a hero was broken now rather than later, so they can identify the problematic outliers sooner rather than later. I have no qualms with her state right now (and no I don’t play her as she’s not my sort of hero-I’m not good enough to play her)
That’s a good idea though. As long as they remember to filter good ideas from bad ones. Something like “Make Havana not good for snipers” would be a bad idea because SOME places should still be good for snipers in the same way SOME stages are really good for high ground characters.
Especially since, if people don’t like it, they can just never play Havana and leave it to those who do like it.
Shouldn’t Widow at least have one map that favors her? Especially since more people would rather ban Sombra than Widow. There’s actual evidence people tolerate Widow way more.

i want to know what constitutes grounds for reworking a map?
A) its not like a pick rate says much about whats wrong with it
B) some maps will be picked less not because theres something wrong with them, but because people simply like others more
I feel like they changed her design to fit into the perks world, because in my opinion, take aim would make a lot more sense theoretically if the dot damage was decreased but it added a slow. Then, you would use take aim to hobble someone and then finish off with the primary fire. Instead, they added a slow as a perk.
Pick rate constitutes that people don’t like it as much as others. Hence why they should rework it. Maps that no one wants to play don’t have a purpose.
If players like all the other maps more than 1 for example its a good reason to rework it lol.
Probably. All I know is she is busted lol and does too much too quickly too safely.

No absolutely not. Shes not a niche hero, she is playable on all maps, shes untouchable on Havana.
Map favouring should be left to non generalist heroes, thats all they have.
I feel that she is perhaps the best DPS in the game. Someone called me sweaty because I swapped off of her for Hanzo (widely considered to be the worst DPS overall).
Not going to lie, I WAS sweating because I needed that win which is why I put my entire Freyussy into the game and once it looked impossible, I just gave up and played what I actually wanted to. That somehow made the difference? I am my own worst enemy. My mental is a shook one…

I would agree she’s the best DPS, but when you combo Sojourn with the blue beam of death from Mercy… And the times I’ve tried to play Freya I did enjoy because of the skill level required as I love a challenge (just a shame I was utter dog**** KEKW), I just feel she’s not the best DPS per se…but she’s a VERY close 2nd behind sojourn. Though her mobility is second to none-but to utilize it properly you need to be REAL good

I don’t think there’s ever been a situation where Widow is untouchable. Whenever people say it on here, its chased by “also, widow sniping widow doesn’t count, ignore us literally ignoring widow, I should not have to swap to a flanking hero because it doesn’t work and I won’t try”.
Seriously, reading “she’s untouchable” just reads like “I will not try” these days.
The kit is fine imo. It’s quite unique.
The numbers are too good, even during the play test before the release.
I get it that they want new heroes to feel strong and I don’t mind that. If she’s weak they will not gather enough data and feedback.
The worrying part is that she was too broken at a certain point, even in Stadium. This makes me wonder if the balance team understands what they’re doing.
We’ve seen many instances of complete nonsense, and broken Freja is one of them.
