If they force me to crossplay, I’m just done with the game. Consoles have unlimited alts for extra trolls and smurfs, as well as aim-assist meant for controller even though people can play with mouse and keyboard.
I don’t want anything to do with the console player base.
Edit: They will force it for casual modes, though they will disable aim assist. They aren’t (for now anyway) allowing console players into PC competitive matches. Casual modes are already a mess anyway, so I guess I’ll see how much worse it gets.
Cross-Play will be automatically enabled by default for all users. If you decide that you want to opt-out of the cross-play function, you may do so through the Overwatch in-game menu, or within your console’s system settings for Xbox. PC players cannot opt out of cross-play.

Maybe they are setting it up as an option for some console players that do have mouse and keyboard set ups on their console.
They may have the option to “mingle” with the PC player base if they dare.

Once cross PROGRESSION comes I’m buying a Nintedo Switch to chill on PvE and arcade while I’m on my bed or away from home/outside.
For real this is the only thing that would matter.

They should not remove the option to opt out on pc.
No cross progression is a bummer but at least we are close.
That FAQ says they will disable aim-assist, but will force me to crossplay: “PC players can’t disable crossplay.”
Edit: The video seems to say there is an exception to this for competitive. Or more to the point, that mixed console/PC player groups cannot play competitive, so you don’t need to opt out there. Casual modes are already a matchmaking disaster so… we’ll see if it can get worse I guess.

Well, they force you to. Aaron said console players can disable cross play but PC players cannot.
I appreciate the team being able to bring this to the player base but I also don’t want anything to do with it but for other reasons than you. Even though console has aim assist, you’re still heavily gimped on a console vs a PC player. This means unbalanced matches and a lot of frustration.
I don’t want these people in my match Blizzard. Let PC players disable cross play too please!
