Dev silence concern

Ever since the PvE hero mode cancelation disaster, the devs kind of went silent and dont communicate anymore or am i imagining things?
No news on balance, upcoming reworks like Lifeweaver or anything of that sort. We used to get a dev update once a week.

This is a bad sign.

I imagine because anything they post is getting flamed into oblivion.

Bit hard to talk about the future of the game when you re released the first game just so you could add microtransactions and then lie about the PVE you know you won’t be releasing so you can sell more skins and battle passes.

It’s been once every fortnight. The next one should be in three days or so.

The silence is surely because the S5 is coming in 14 days.

Lol. What’s to say? Hey guys, we lied. Thanks for money.

They can’t say anything anymore. This community showed them recently that we’re incapable of having legitimate discussion.

The community reaction to the PvE direction changes (calling them liars, threatening legal action, etc.) was truly embarrassing. We honestly don’t deserve communication.

Edit: Got it. Forums full of illiterate teenagers confirmed.

They can’t say anything when they still want to milk the people buying skins.

They better don’t if they have nothing to talk about.

Btw check out the Diablo 4 forums if you wanna communicate with them. Lots of fun.

Sure, we are the bad guys for not liking being lied to for years.

Nobody lied to you. Anyone who paid attention to anything but headlines knows that.

Most of their talk is: “We have this planned”, “Things are coming”, “Soon :tm:”

It’s literally better if they don’t say anything at this point. Most of it is just empty talk and empty words. Ppl literally do NOT believe them anymore.

And this, ladies and gentleman, is what we call “blizzard ****eater”.

There are cases where community loses its right to communicate with devs. This wasn’t one of them.

Also i expect S5 to be a total disaster and even more players to leave. Will S6 be able to make players return? I don’t know, but i doubt it. I just know that S5 will be a filler.

Well, they released their roadmap to Season 5 to 7 so in their mind, it’s good enough and the job’s done :man_shrugging:

At this point, people should stop considering F2P Overwatch close to any other live service games. This is not it. The Overwatch team has no experience in F2P games - they’re still learning.

What appealed to them (with going F2P) was the business model in the first place. They clearly didn’t intend to improve their slow 2016-2019 roadmap model or else we would be getting more content by now.

The OW1 roadmap was slow but somewhat acceptable since it was a P2P game and new content was for free. Now that it’s F2P with an aggressive business model, that roadmap is simply not good enough. Current pricing doesn’t go along with the low content and updates the game offers.

Outside of whales and people like us buying 2-3 skins a year, there’s no real incentive for players to waste more money on it. Overwatch in current state simply doesn’t deserve getting more money from its playerbase.

We went about four years without really hearing from the devs. This silence is unremarkable, especially since whatever they say next needs to be more positively impactful than the most recent news was negatively impactful.

This is so ridiculous I can’t even fathom how you’re still riding this line. They weren’t conversing before this when they went ‘radio silent’ for years on end to produce nothing, they were barely communicative for a year or two before that, and there is no ‘discussion’ in OW2. It’s presentation pieces that you’re allowed to comment on that they don’t read.

The mental gymnastics you have to do to get to ‘this is the players’ fault’ is Olympic level.

Ranting about RTO like you are going to attend a funeral, as a representative of your company, on an SNS is surely something new I that I have learned from them. I should try that too when I have a chance to.

Blizzard shill detected, holy hell how dense can one be?

Devs who want consumers to keep paying for their products don’t get that luxury. Especially when the majority of the feedback was completely warranted and justified anger and upset

lmao sure dude, if you truly believe that
