Ever since the PvE hero mode cancelation disaster, the devs kind of went silent and dont communicate anymore or am i imagining things?
No news on balance, upcoming reworks like Lifeweaver or anything of that sort. We used to get a dev update once a week.
I imagine because anything they post is getting flamed into oblivion.
Bit hard to talk about the future of the game when you re released the first game just so you could add microtransactions and then lie about the PVE you know you wonât be releasing so you can sell more skins and battle passes.
They canât say anything anymore. This community showed them recently that weâre incapable of having legitimate discussion.
The community reaction to the PvE direction changes (calling them liars, threatening legal action, etc.) was truly embarrassing. We honestly donât deserve communication.
Edit: Got it. Forums full of illiterate teenagers confirmed.
Most of their talk is: âWe have this plannedâ, âThings are comingâ, âSoon ââŠ
Itâs literally better if they donât say anything at this point. Most of it is just empty talk and empty words. Ppl literally do NOT believe them anymore.
Also i expect S5 to be a total disaster and even more players to leave. Will S6 be able to make players return? I donât know, but i doubt it. I just know that S5 will be a filler.
Well, they released their roadmap to Season 5 to 7 so in their mind, itâs good enough and the jobâs done âŠ
At this point, people should stop considering F2P Overwatch close to any other live service games. This is not it. The Overwatch team has no experience in F2P games - theyâre still learning.
What appealed to them (with going F2P) was the business model in the first place. They clearly didnât intend to improve their slow 2016-2019 roadmap model or else we would be getting more content by now.
The OW1 roadmap was slow but somewhat acceptable since it was a P2P game and new content was for free. Now that itâs F2P with an aggressive business model, that roadmap is simply not good enough. Current pricing doesnât go along with the low content and updates the game offers.
Outside of whales and people like us buying 2-3 skins a year, thereâs no real incentive for players to waste more money on it. Overwatch in current state simply doesnât deserve getting more money from its playerbase.
We went about four years without really hearing from the devs. This silence is unremarkable, especially since whatever they say next needs to be more positively impactful than the most recent news was negatively impactful.
This is so ridiculous I canât even fathom how youâre still riding this line. They werenât conversing before this when they went âradio silentâ for years on end to produce nothing, they were barely communicative for a year or two before that, and there is no âdiscussionâ in OW2. Itâs presentation pieces that youâre allowed to comment on that they donât read.
The mental gymnastics you have to do to get to âthis is the playersâ faultâ is Olympic level.
Ranting about RTO like you are going to attend a funeral, as a representative of your company, on an SNS is surely something new I that I have learned from them. I should try that too when I have a chance to.
Devs who want consumers to keep paying for their products donât get that luxury. Especially when the majority of the feedback was completely warranted and justified anger and upset
