I think the way it’s showing the comparison is a bit misleading tbh because of how close they are to the target. misleading i.e. people thinking that yellow circle being the actual size of the beam when it isn’t.

like here’s a comparson of zarya and sym’s beams when they’re more towards their max ranges

if we drew that yellow circle for this video we’d see it be much smaller.

First, thank you for making this.

And I should ask you something,
Have/Did you considered the average distance that people actually play in the matches?
It’s about 5-10 m unless they are hitscan base heroes, so I held it as 7.5 m as average.

Moira’s Beam Max-Range is 20 m
Zarya’s Beam Max-Range is 15 m
Symmetra’s Beam Max-range is 12 m
Mei’s Primary Fire Max-range is 10 m

yet we have seen moiras rush to enemies faces so they often play in range of 5-10 m from the target.

My point is that if Moira wants to defend back line there is no need to have 20 m range but the problem is that she has to damage in order to sustain healing, so what should we do? Reduce the damage to her secondary fire and buff the healing charge up? Or give the hero more damage with aim base properties? i mean you know how hard it is to heal with Ana and people love it because it’s a good challenge between healing damaging and giving nano-boost to some Happy Genjies or Happy Reinhardts.

btw the new ability feels like a great challenge for Moira’s fade yet people may start calling her selfish for using her fade only for her self.

Winston meanwhile eats another banana.

and we love him.

Did u know if you divide your screen to 3/3, the 1/3 in the middle is all that Winston hits as primary fire?
Like… if we keep the target in that 1/3 of your screen, they will get hit by your primary fire none stop… all tho the damage is like… tickling as Jayne says so, right?

Currently debating his current impact on ExC: Found Winston much harder to play with so much immune effects going around

the vid isn’t actually mine. you can check the youtube channel to so the forum user who made it

if that was really the case, you’d be seeing more lvl3 charged syms. but we don’t. like a soldier, widow, ashe, mccree, etc. wouldn’t just follow say a rein to <10m of the enemy in a brawl and often take a diff angle from a safer position.

same can be said about sym, moira, zarya and mei. they don’t just rush into melee range. they stay further away until they see an opportunity to use their closer ranged tools.

uuuuh no…? if you’re going aggro flank maybe but that’s not often. most of the time as moira you do play in the 15~20m range because safety from behind the tanks and needing to heal them.

the last one (moira main btw). 50dps is already low enough so option 2 is out. the 20m is absolutely necessary for the healing resource. from my experience of the ExpC, I don’t really mind the tightness of the secondary (I noticed the difference certainly), tho I kinda wish it did maybe like 60dps rather than 50dps.

Moira

Mei

Zarya

Sym

Thanks for the Reply and care about what is happening here.

aoo listen… aa… I didn’t know you are Moira main so this conversation is kinda pointless because you don’t really want your main to get nerfed also you want her to get buffed.

The Life of a DPS moira:

  • Fade in front of the target. (cooldown 6 Seconds)
  • Press E then Right Click to the “Run-Away” pathway of the Target, if you can make the ball bounce a couple of times towards the target(aka a shinny wall or room) lucky you. (1 second)
  • Spam A & D while Holding Right Click on target For (3 to 4 Seconds) you don’t really have to aim you know… here… set the center gap to 100 in your crosshair settings and hold your target in this big circle that’s all you have to do, they will definitely die.
  • Press Couple of Ctrls/Commands on mac [some people dont know what is Ctrl after all these years] (aka Crouch button) for your target… just in case (1-2 Seconds)
  • Fade out to a safe position possibly back to your team or pathway to the closest spawn area (don’t forget to hug the walls for possible widow/ashe/mccree/soldie76).
  • Last but not least: type "EZ " in enemy (match) chat.

Consequences:

  • Fade in only you the target is alone and out of stand abilities.
  • if you got stunned, possibly fade behind the target and continue the rotation
  • you might jump in to chain of stuns so consider backup plan
  • not all targets are as bad in their aim as their level supported to… we have a lot smurfs in this game so… examine the targets 1-2 fights before planning.

Anyways all I’m saying, your opinions are respectful and I wish you keep enjoying playing Moira.

Great resource thanks. I’d love to see a comparison with hitscan as well as different projectiles if you ever have time. I tried to do a projectile one earlier but your presentation is so clean

Cheers mate I would love to share these types of ideas

That’s not necessarily true. I play a bunch of Moira, and would be happy to make Moira’s RMB tighter as long as RMB does more damage to compensate. Ana can do ~85 DPS, Bap can do ~115 DPS and Mercy can do 100 DPS (reduce weapon swap delay please) for comparison.

50 DPS with a stricter beam is simply unfair.

I’m sorry where are these numbers coming from? Are they per shot? Are they counted as headshot or body shot? Dude this is not how we compare things talk with source, Please.

DPS stands for Damage Per Second. I didn’t factor in the fact that Ana’s damage is over time, so I don’t know her exact amount, but she can fire one shot every 0.8s if you want to find out.

No dude your usage of “can do” is basically wrong.
You are not defining section of shots?
how many of them?
In what duration are these defined?

  • Ana does 70 dmg per shot just like Mccree body-shots.
  • Baptiste shots 3 bullets per left click each bullet does 12.5-25 dmg body-shot depending on range (edited to prevent misunderstanding)
  • Mercy pistol shots are 25 per bullet as body shot
  • Lucio: 3 shots per click, each shot 25 dmg as body-shot
  • Brigitte: 35 dmg per swing
  • Zenyatta: 48 per body shot with discord on the target.
  • Moira: 50 damage per sec.
    Source: Overstats android application.

And you define DPS for me… dude.

life of a dps moira != life of moira

^that

divide damage by time taken to deal that damage = damage per second.

Most of the game is played in the 10-20m range, actually. There aren’t a ton of close range heroes, and being that close to an enemy is dangerous if you’re not one.

Healers especially will play that range, while tanks will play closer.

Midrange is the normal range.

Each bullet does 25 damage, body shot. Hop into the range as Bap and you’ll see that it takes two bursts (six bullets) precisely to body shot Tracer to death.

3 x 25 is not 115, it’s 75 and you have to “aim” a “tracer” not like that tracer is standing still for you to shoot. With moira your beam does the job, sound cool right?

As moira to deal with tracer:

  • send the orb 50 dmg per sec
  • hold right for 2 seconds… 1… 2… dead.

Hey that’s me :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
