The latest Q&A was interesting where they asked the type of feedback they read on the forums and the type they skip.
“delete hog” and “delete genji” posts - SKIP. Some forum posters (you know who you are E*) regularly create this type of topic. So nice to hear they are being ignored and it is completely the wrong approach to getting changes made.

I mean … did anyone actually believe that, unironically, they were paying close attention to someone that says “Just delete X game content” ?
Those dudes are lucky they are not suspended straight away from posting

and what about “delete that ability” posts? =)
or “delete this player slot”
or “delete all CC”
or “delete 2CP mode”

Did they actually say that? That’s awesome

Tbf, they did sorta delete a lot of content. Orisa, mass res, scatter arrow, 2cp (HLC and Paris from comp earlier), DPS doomfist, most CC.
Deleting bad content has historically been some of the updates with the best response from the community.

Good, “Delete [anything]” is a scrub mentality which ought to be ignored.
If something in-game is legitimately unbalanced or unfun then players ought to be asking the devs to “fix it” rather than delete it.
Honestly, what kind of gamer advocates for the removal of content from a game? It’s a terrible concept which could very well set a terrible precedent for developers who might otherwise be willing to listen to it, because the moment something in the game doesn’t go as planned or catch on/proves unpopular, they’ll just delete it outright rather than put any effort into fixing it.
Honestly, I’d hate to be this way, but anyone who says “Delete [insert content here]” should just uninstall the game immediately because it’s a whiny, entitled, lazy mentality which all but guarantees that the player will never get good at the game because their response to anything they don’t like is to beg the developers to take it away. Any obstacle, any challenge, any effort whatsoever is evidently just too much for them because they aren’t even willing to wait for the developers to fix it, (assuming anything is actually wrong to begin with) they’d rather just have it taken completely out of their way.
In which case, you’re the problem, and you’re what needs to be removed from the game because evidently you don’t understand that this style of game is built around the concept of overcoming obstacles and challenges through gradual self-improvement.
If all you want is instant gratification, then there are plenty of other games out there for you to play, and competitive online multiplayer games aren’t for you. They just aren’t intended for people whose reaction to a problem isn’t to seek a solution but to ask for the problem to be removed. These folks must be excellent students if that’s their reaction to a problem. “This math problem is too hard and unfun to solve! Teacher, take it away! No, don’t try to help me to solve it, I don’t want to learn, I just don’t want to do it! I want an effortless A+ so that I can feel good about myself!”
So yeah, I commend Blizzard for openly admitting to ignoring their whining.

Yeah well the “sort of” is the key here, they actually didnt.
They try to rebalance and tweak numbers and if theres no solution then rework or substitute 1 thing for another.
Threads we are talking about here dont want that, they just want a straight up “Delete” button and GGs go next.
The same ones that cry “we haven’t had any new content in 2 years since echo. The game is soooo dead”

Brigitte was nerfed pretty fast after the deletebrig threads started showing up.
Not true at all. I am once of those and I think removing stuff is stupid (5v5 and 2cp) And is it is now 3 years.

So they ignored deletebrig threads and instead only made balance changes to her.

It wasn’t “ignored” if actions have been taken. If you think they will just delete a character, you have unrealistic expectations.
Is delete genji even that popular to mention it?
I dont see it much and i spend to much time in here…
They were pretty clear that “an outcry” has an impact. But a few randos on the forums posting once or twice a weak to “delete hog” are not going to have an impact. If the whole community is up in arms, like they were for brig, for giga-genji, for giga-hog, then they will take action.
a certain doomfist main is notorious for that

It wasn’t because of the delete threads, it was because of statistics regarding a newly implemented character.

Just delete 2cp went through though

Honestly, they’re allowed to have ideas of their own, especially those that directly effect the competitive integrity of all players/characters. A reduction in CC was something that enables more play, 2cp was not conductive towards fun for all types of players, not just specific characters (that people like to play), and the reduction in the 6th teammate is going to help que times, and more self-agency/individual impact.
All of those have legitimate reasons, and don’t take away from people being able to play the characters they want to play, who still exist.
Did you listen to the Q&A? They don’t listen to topics which are just straight-up rants with titles like “delete X”. They look for well reasoned arguments for why something is not good or should be changed. There have been a good number of those on the topics you list (as well as lots which are braindead rants). So, yes, they do listen to some things on the forums, just not people with crappy titles and crappy descriptions of the problem.
Its not just 2cp that give high advantage for certian players tho, and are more fun for them.
Example Ilios, well, highly pushed towards gameplay of pushing people to the hole, or playing something that can avoid being thrown off. (in general i think koth sucks, but ilios is on higher lvl of sucking imo)
That is yet to be proven to be effective solution tho, but even if it will not work they will keep it that way
