Adding this trash bag of a hero was one of the worst mistakes blizzard has ever made, overshadowed only by doom and brig.
The amount of mobility and c with huge aoe this hero has absolutely insane. It’s NOT OK for a hero to get killed and be contesting the point across the map in 13 seconds and it’s is not ok to have cc with no cd attached to a channeled ability with no time limit and another point sized unavoidable slam that hits through surfaces and pretty much turns most non mobile heroes into free ult charge.
Hammond has the most unique version of tanking in the game. The way he tanks is the most creative thing they’ve done tankwise in the game so far. He has CC and boops because that’s how he makes space. Hammond has to be fast and be a threat to you because that’s how he makes space since he can’t just hold W with a shield.
Also, people in plat rarely counter a hamster properly. I have a 58% winrate and reached diamond again mainly by playing hamster and ignoring my team in solo queue. Just make space, get kills, use mines, rinse repeat.
I like that he isn’t a tank at all. Just a big fat DPS and supplies little to no tank qualities for his team. 9 times out of 10 he leaves his team in a 5v6 and just rolls around poking the back line.
Relying on cc to counter cc is just bad design. Also, you can’t go sombra if you’re support or a tank, so you’re basically just getting slapped around the whole game.
Something being unique doesn’t automatically make it good. Having no legs is a unique trait, but i doubt that many would call it a good one.
And this is exactly why hammond is poorly designed. Not only is he frustraiting and at times unfair to play against, he’s also crap to play with.
Personally, I think people play Hammond Wrong. The more you play him like an actual wrecking ball, swinging back and forth into teams from an archway or around corners, the more effective he is. If you are playing him exclusively like budget Tracer, you are doing it wrong.
Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire or just get burned. Also he has a rather large hitbox, and since Ana is highly picked you can sleep him with relative ease as a support.
Hammond is such a huge target, I don’t see the issue. Easy to focus him down or force a retreat. (you don’t need to kill in a game that is about objectives, just need to discourage an engage, or force an engage that is beneficial to yourself)
If anything he’s one of the more balanced hero releases.
And on top of that he’s perfect when playing against bunker / double shield as he just rolls through the clustered up enemies.
Being a huge target doesn’t suddenly make his cc aoe any smaller and cd’s any longer. Also, it doesn’t make Hammonds on your team any less selfish and non team oriented.
Try using a bigger font, maybe then someone will actually think that you’re funny. You know, because loud(or in this case big) is funny
This is part of my problem with Hammond, also his great mobility. But also I like playing the character too. Sometimes when I play with a Ham on my team, it feels great because they’re good at their job and it doesn’t matter if they’re not ‘with the team’.
Other times it feels like we should just give up because it’s a 5v6.
These kinda threads are childish & pathetic.
They’re never, ever going to delete heroes just cause you dont like them.
Yet people still wonder why they dont take whiny forum plebs like op, seriously… This thread is one of the reasons why forums cant NEVER be taken seriously regardless if it was matter of balancing, etc or not.
If you put aside the delete thing. How exactly am i wrong about him? He is poorly designed cc machine and people do play him in a selfish manner. Just because blizzard don’t delete heroes doesn’t mean people can’t have a desire for that to happen to a bad hero like ball.
Or are you just one of those guys that disregard everything in the post just because someone said something bad about your main?
Entitled/biased whiners like you have said this about every 31/32 idk, heroes in this game.
And 1st of all, Hamtaro is high skill/mechanic hero, which means that it’s pretty damn hard to master this hero properly.
2nd of all, I’d not be suprized if you we’re one of those ‘‘sWiTch oFf/oUr bAlL iS tHrOwInG, pLz rEpOrt’’ type of players.
And no. Im just fed up with people like you who act childishly & ask them to delete hero ‘‘x’’ from the game. Also, kinda funny, but no, I dont have any mains in this game anymore cause I like to flex.
That’s just your opinion, it’s not a fact. Many ball players feel the exact opposite, that he’s extremely fun to play and well designed, but needs buffs bc of the overload of CC that counters him
