My friends and myself are all looking for something else to fill that FPS itch.
The stale meta… reported for picking non meta heroes… toxicity… the list can go on for a while. I understand why streamers get tired of streaming games where this is the normal bs that goes on.
Is blizzard gonna focus on the balance/gameplay more then trying to force this game to become a big “e-sport”?

My friends and I still regularly queue up in 4-6 man teams, so I can’t especially sympathize. Had the game since launch, still having fun with it.
But… dive is over. What you described was the state of the game during dive. Now its much better. The pool of viable heroes is just different thats all.
I have to say, I hate this meta, it makes so few heroes actually viable.

You see, that’s why I can’t stand this forum anymore. It’s just some twisted view on everything.
When there was dive, dive was a stale meta; now that it changed, it’s a stale meta again. “BUT DIVE WAS FUN”, yeah, the forum said the same about triple tank when dive was “a stale meta”.
Report for picking non meta heroes is so rare that it’s insane to bring it as a problem of the game as a whole.
Toxicity is being addressed CONTINOUSLY. Every couple months there’s a news about it, being report system, Avoid Player, now LFG and endorsements.
And then, as always, the “THEY FOCUS ONLY IN THE E-SPORT” card, which is absolutely insane. They just released a map that can’t be used in e-Sport, lol!
I give my tip for anyone interested: come to the forum a lot less (once or twice a week) and play more. You’ll find the game is in a much better state.
Why are more and more people less encouraged to play this game… including all the major streamers over the last year?
Objectively, this meta is not any more restrictive than any other meta that preceded it. You simply don’t like this one. That is okay. I loathed dive, but I put on my man pants and dealt with it.

True, but really the only meta I hated was the Mercy meta, really all metas are bad in general😂

What heroes weren’t viable during dive that are viable now?
In GM (basically the only bracket where dive was even played) I was seeing Reins, Zaryas, Moiras, Mercys, S76s, McCrees, Pharahs, Junkrats. Non-meta heroes were viable during dive. During this new meta? Non-meta heroes just aren’t viable. Look at S76 and his pickrate that sits at nearly half Symmetra’s pickrate. It’s not healthy.
There really was no Mercy meta. Mercy was meta in dive. Mercy is meta now. My experience is that “Mercy meta” is a cudgel used by people who just don’t like Mercy or the people that play her.
You wanna go - go.

At this point people just want a BR mode. Any meta that comes around people hate.
Diva, heals, tank, ult… Its never good enough and people cry about how the “last meta wasn’t even that bad”
I think there needs to be more incentives for play and playing well, which the next patch starts to address some.
But there are certain things you should only be able to get by level, playing wins, headhots, damage, heals, blocked damage etc etc.

Because games get old, and people stop playing them, friend. That is the nature of video games. You didn’t expect to play this game for the rest of your life, did you?
Things tend to stop being fun after a while. It is why there are so many divorces in the world, and why your favorite shows end (sometimes prematurely). Circle of life stuff. You don’t have to enjoy the game forever, but a quick glance at your profile suggests you got PLENTY of time out of the 40$ game.
If it isn’t fun anymore, d̶o̶n̶’̶t̶ ̶p̶l̶a̶y̶ ̶i̶t̶!̶ go complain on the forums! It’s not rocket science.
Your wrong about both since I do play her and I love her to death. The mercy meta was when she was at her most powerful, mercy 2.0. Man, it was a nightmare.
Yes she is very powerful now and used a whole lot, but Other healers can still be played, and I’m not asked to switch to mercy when playing Lucio.
What we mean by mercy meta is when winning or losing was decided by having a mercy or not.
