Defense matrix idea

DM thickness reduces as the charge level goes down, meaning that D.Va needs to prioritize targets and not just point it at the enemy team. D.Va players, would this dumpster the hero? Or would she still be viable?

I want a dynamic DM that is quickly depleted from absorbing powerful Ults such as Pharah’s, Cassidy’s, Illari’s and Reaper’s Ults. It would make her DM more fair and more strategic to use.

This is actually a really good idea, but do you think it’ll make it too much like a normal barrier?

I had a similar thought reading it. The only think I can think of personally is to make it the opposite of a regular barrier: the amount of projectiles being eaten makes the charge go down faster, regardless of the damage, but I do see that making Bastion/Mauga instand Dva counters

I don’t like this idea because it’s already not as wide as you think it is. The visual are doesn’t properly align with the effective area.

Honestly I say just put it back at 3 seconds.

But I do think that there should be a visual or auditory queue about how much is remaining. Like higher pitched sounds when it’s low or changing colors as it depletes or something. DM isn’t more effective than shields but it’s harder to read. When a shield is low you see cracks. When DM is low only the D.Va player knows. And I think this is actually a big source of the frustration with it. Because people don’t know when it’s almost out.

I guess it would but Id be OK with that. To me, her DM feels too powerful, except against beam weapons like Zarya and Symmetra.
