Yeah, the DM cheat system seems dumb, they’re not really curbing problems other f2p active games right now are fighting. And all the announcements of things they’re doing post launch, cosmetic prices, etc. I’m uninstalling OW on the 4th lol, not that anyone cares.
In a year and a half of playing I have 91 of Soldiers items and at least 70 on everyone pretty much. Such a greedy game that’s not even very innovative, basically nothing changed except remove a hero. different gameplay? sure. innovation? lmao no. screw off. Overwatch 1.1.
Cheating community devs have stated that HWID are in place for OW2. Maybe not for smurfing, toxicity, gameplay sabotage, etc but definitely for cheating.
I’ll just say this, good luck finding a spoofer that actually works and needs to spoof what HWID it’s detecting and banning. Don’t forget, it’s also another thing that will cost a cheater real money to use.
That’s fair I mean I don’t think they shouldn’t use hardware bans, I just think that it cannot replace the use of phone numbers. The more layers (within reason) the better.
These software spoofers are mostly detected by good atni cheat systems, the ones that work will eventually get detected, actual hardware change is costly so it works, which is why its used in most modern games, even cod uses it.
Every multiplayer game will have some sort of cheater in it. They will never be 100% cheater free. Now, does a cheater want to go through the annoyance of everything from FTUE, new phone number, HWID stuff, VPN’s, etc?
Wonder how improved their machine learning anti-cheat is. I really want to see how cheat devs combat against AI Anti-Cheat, that’d be a fun watch.
19 million Cricket customers
18 million Metro PCS
add in the rest and you’re about 50 million.
That’s just the US (and we know it’s NOT just a problem in the US)
You don’t need a citation, think for yourself.
Effectively barring 1/6th the US population from being able to access your game, and realize babies and infirmed aren’t customers, means just like I said.
