does anyone know the default aim settings for sensitivity, aim smoothing and aim ease in? i cant find it anywhere. thanks!
For sensitivity: 15.00
I believe Aim Smoothing & Ease In is only for Controllers.
Aim Smoothing: 100.0
Ease In: 0.0
You can find out these settings by resetting your controls to default by pressing backspace on the control settings.
edit: thanks for the clarification wyoming!
You are spot on Sun.
Fun fact, the default sensitivity is Game Director Jeff Kaplan’s preferred sensitivity.
Hmm that interesting, I wonder what his mouse setting are like if it’s that high?
There are still a lot of budget mice that come with fixed 800 or 1000 DPI. If a casual player starts the game with an average office mouse and the default in-game sensitivity (15) then the edpi is 800x15 or 1000x15. Quite high but OK for wrist+fingertip aiming that is probably what most people use on the windows desktop.
Even if we consider mice with adjustable DPI: most of them can’t go below 800 DPI and it probably doesn’t even make sense to go lower.
If I’m not mistaking my mouse is currently set to 800dpi.
And at 15 sens my mouse screen goes spinning at the slightest twitch.
my sens is as low as 2.5 (ish)
All these messages feel too out of place for Wyoming
Must be an April fool’s prank
800x15 edpi is definitely suboptimal for aiming but the lack of arm movements makes it comfortable. Most people aren’t hitscan gods and happy if they can click an “OK button” on a window.
Wrist+fingertip aiming is possible even if you are “lying” on the desk (or at least you rest your lower arms on it) instead of properly sitting in front of it. This alone makes it very attractive to some people.
For accurate aiming with hitscans 10-15cm/180 is the bare minimum for most people. In OW I prefer 15-20cm/180 as a tradeoff between accuracy and ease of navigation.
