Debunk your main

Post myths about your heroes and why they are wrong.

Let me start of with hitbox:

Hitboxes are insanely big in this game, combined with latency stuff will hit that shouldn’t hit. This creates the misconception of how big the hitbox of projectiles and abilities are

Ana:
Sleep has a giant hit box:
Average GM player hits around 7-9 sleeps. If sleep had a giant hitbox sleeping Genji or Tracer would be much easier
Gold/Plat hits on average 6 sleeps

What probably is happening: Latency and hitbox

Very forgiving scope shots:
Kinda true.
Her scope shots are forgiving up to 15m, between 15 and 20m it gets smaller and at 20m it’s pin point.
Part of this is, again, the big hitboxes in OW.
Long range healing needs pinpoint accuracy

Fat nade:
A fat nade is not easy to land.
In most cases a fat nade is precise timed between a shield drop or it’s a flank nade.
Flank nade: Ana taking an off angle, leaving their team with less heals and risking getting caught and killed, to throw a nade from the side.
A Fat nade also needs a stacked team

Sombra

Teleporting out of a fight means she didn’t lose.

She has EMMENSE time pressures. Her gun is garbage1, so she doesn’t give a lot of value in the main fights, so she HAS to get value all of the time outside of the main fights.

If she jumped you, and you turned your shield towards her, and she had to tele out when you got peel, that hurt her… It hurt her a LOT.

1 A weapon should either have high damage per game, or a high final blows rate. Hers has neither.

Low effort attempt for Brig
Whipshot:
While a lot of people claim she takes no aim this is a skill shot just like hook. I will not claim that it takes a lot of aim cause it has a huge hitbox and can not headshot, but you can do a lot of stuff with good positioning and the knockback.

Shield Bash:
Sure being cc is annoying, but I don’t get why she gets so much hate for it. I think it’s the shortest stun in the game and you can follow up with whipshot, but there is no kill combo like for flashbang, hook, freeze etc.

In general I disagree with the opinion, that her design is a fail or her kit is overloaded. They just have to give all her abilities the right numbers to tweak her. I think people forget that for all the stuff she has she trades to have range in a shooter game as a non-tank hero.

Mercy:

I guess I put one for her as she is truthfully my main.

Super jump is hard to land-in the practice range on a stationary target! False that’s easy.

However, Now please go into a real match to try it. To super jump in an intended high area on moving targets while multitasking your beam, positioning, and focusing on threats is not easy. Fine tuning it is is not easy tech. It’s not easy to GA backwards, and god damn it it’s not a bug the devs said so.

It’s here to stay now get over it and practice practice practice!

(Thank you to a the person I can’t remember who inspired me to learn super jump on the forums like 2 months ago.)

“You cant escape or outplay Meteor Strike and the ability combos”

Escaping Meteor Strike has always been easy even for non mobile characters. As Doom moves you can hear a sound cue upwards and position yourself as hes confirming the landing zone.

You can easily outplay a Doom with baiting out abilities or even combos. Doomfists strength is in his ability combos. For example baiting an Uppercut places him in a very predictable arc where you can shoot him easily. If he uses Slam during that he ruined his combo making him useless for seconds.

Mei:

Mei’s gun is easy to use is suggested time and again. But that is completely false. Even getting a freeze takes 1.5 seconds to freeze an enemy assuming perfect accuracy, and if you know how hard it is to track a target, getting every single piece to hit just isn’t realistic. It’ll take generally 2 seconds, assuming no shields and no movement skills. How many characters can actually KILL you in 2 seconds? The answer is most of them. Getting a freeze is not safe, and it takes a huge chunk of Mei’s ammo. Then her right click has a wind up AND a cooldown. So imagine trying to use Hanzo, but MUST full charge an arrow AND as soon as it’s fully charged, it fires off. You can’t hold it to line it up. THEN imagine it only deals 75 damage rather than the 125 that Hanzo’s deals.

At that point, Mei’s gun is one of the hardest to use in the whole game. Sure, there IS the time when a roadhog doesn’t have his hook and you catch him alone, but realistically, Mei is NOT an easy character to use.

Ahm, proceed to walk away from his ult, lol
That’s of course, if he decides to land on you, which is suicide

Reaper.
doesn’t flank or do pounce play anymore.
99% of the time a kill takes 3-4 shots maybe more.
deathblossom, good luck using it ever.

mostly only viable in gold rank and below.

let’s be honest here, you’re playing reaper because it’s reaper and not because of his amazing kit.

Reaper is op

He really isnt. Have you tried shooting him from medium distance? Or boops? Or stuns?

i live for those one-shots, and it’s weird that i hope the enemy has a blind/deaf widow on their team just so i can sneak up on her and one-shot her while she stands completely still scoped in looking at nothing.

took me about a year to figure out that reaper isn’t really ment to one-shot despite having the next strongest shotguns in the game and realized he’s more of a close aoe spammer similar to winston.

D.Va

Myth
Defense matrix can easly eat most ultimates

Fact
In some cases that is true - Tactical Visor, Barrage, Bastion Ult ETC. There are some ults which require alot more knowledge and timing to get everytime
These include but arent limited - Mei, Zarya, Hanzo.
The timing of these ults are so strict that there are certain techniques that us D.Va mains have aquired to eating these.
Just because a D.Va has eaten your ultimate 4 times. doesnt mean that DM is broken, it just means that player has been practicing ult eating.

Now Soldiers and McCrees ults are different in the fact that you would just body the ultimate if their DM is offline

Reinhardt:

Earth shatter was not skillful:

Thats just false. getting it and outplaying enemy main tank and usually off tank is a skill you need the higher you go.
Also hitting the shatter and following up with is important to note.
especially with his recent shatter nerf.

Rein is Easy:

Yeah no. Reinhardt by no mean is easy. Sure he has a very basic kit and its easy to understand. Does not mean you will do insane every match and I can guarntee, you will lose every single you play at a high rank if you have zero clue on how to play him, if you havent developed, reinmain’s game sense, awareness.

“299 EfFeCtIvE hEaLtH”

I have about 3 or 4 hundred hours on Tracer on various accounts. I have recalled from sub-10 HP to full no more than probably 50 times ever, and that’s being extremely generous. I did see a 1 to 150 ONCE.

It simply does not work that way. lol

Echo:

’She is just a [insert whichever you prefer] version of Pharah’

She isn’t. She’s not meant to stay in the sky, she’s not meant to be raining down on the entire team.

She’s a flanker and a combo hero where everything individually is weak, but together is stronger. If an Echo is flying out in the open - she is doing it wrong.

Genji-

Deflect cancel was super necessary, dragonblade was already the most mechanically challenging ultimate in the game, but no matter what using deflect basically cut your dragonblade time in half, now with it being cancel-able you can actual use it during dragonblade, even if its super buggy.

Doomfist-

“Punch is easy to hit”
its really not, it might have a larger hitbox then most abilities but there is a lot of counterplay its has a full 2 second charge up time and if you are within 15 meters you will have around 2.3 seconds to prepare for this punch, and any point in time can you try to stun him use one of your movement abilities to get away or even just walk away

Zarya-

Managing bubbles is a lot harder then given credit for because it requires you to memorize the tempo of you main tank

Hitting good a good Grav. Sometimes the best Gravs only catch 1-2 people, after a Zarya gets a good Grav she doesn’t just stand there and let her team do the work a lot of the time ill jump into the Grav myself or sit behind it with my bubble to block the healing there Rein is about to get loaded with, I cant tell you how many times Lucio/Zen players type “?” in chat after I block LOS from there beat or trans.

Doomfist isn’t annoying. You’re just not good.

All his abilities move in a straight line unless you do a turn punch which gets no value outside of mobility.

His hitbox is bigger than zarya’s. If you can’t hit him, you can’t aim and that’s not a doom being too fast problem.

He does require skill.

His ult is not some guaranteed kill machine, in fact it’s the exact opposite and you’re better off NOT going for kills.

Rollout doomfist is the worst playstyle in high ranks for a reason. That’s not about doom being quiet while doing rollouts, it’s about you having the awareness of a tissue paper.

no one who plays comp regularly says rein is non-skillful or easy outside of shieldbotting for bunker comps
