Isn’t regular deathmatch separate from “waiting in queue deathmatch”?
As in, go to Arcade and queue deathmatch. Won’t be playing with queuers

Custom games can be pinned, so it pretty much becomes two clicks. Though I understand if something isnt staring at you in the face most people wont seek out that option.
I also dont think its fair to label anyone who wants to play the game mode as intended is a tryhard. They just dont want their time wasted.

That doesnt solve OPs problem. They want to queue for a different mode, but still be able to play the mode. I dont think thats even remotely an unfair request.
Deathmatch in queue? Nah, there’s no real point there. Deathmatch the actual mode proper? Yeah it’s super frustrating. Honestly, these days I get the urge to report for gameplay sabotage when people are friendly there, especially when I keep getting queued up with them so each match I play effectively only has like 7-5 people actually playing (and that’s before leavers)
im not labelling anybody, that is the name of the gamemode, “tryhard ffa”
you dont have to be a tryhard to join it but the people there are going to actively shoot you and not be friendly or they get kicked
afaik they either disable or kick tanks unless the tanks are having their own duel also so it should be a bit more fair than regular DM which is just a lot of kill stealing

Ah understood. Didnt realize you were referring to a custom game mode.
I still think it would be a better experience if the people wanting to play the game mode werent the ones who had to go out of their way to do so, but at least that is an option.

I understood it as the opposite - they’re in queue for a mode like QP and want to play deathmatch while in queue, but are frustrated that nobody in those lobbies is actually playing.
I dont think this is an unreasonable frustration, and I feel like a lot of the people posting in this thread are being a fair bit insensitive to the complaint.

one thing to keep in mind is this is a public forum so it is more likely to have vocal and extreme opinion relative to something like asking a random player in game so, that is expected of all topics and theres not much to do about it other than read the intention and ignore the presentation

How is it weird? I just want to play the gamemode that is available to play while I wait in queue.
The thing that irritates me the most about this is that I’m playing the WYW Deathmatch to try and keep my aim and dueling skills sharp between actual matches. I can’t do that if people aren’t actually fighting

Because it’s the lowest stakes game possible, there is literally to reason to care deeply about it because there is zero commitment to even playing it
Just leave it and go into the next lobby. Let people have emote parties in Q dude

Yes. That is the beauty of it. You can be as chill or as sweaty as you can. I am not kidding, it’s probably my favourite game mode

Even worse, is when people team up. I call them the same explicative (begins with an P) and then go tank or Sombra.
It sends me back to the same lobby
Oh they totally can. I would just prefer if they did in skirmish and other lobbies instead of the one intended for deathmatch.
My issue is I constantly get put in completely empty lobbies so it’s like what was even the point of pressing the button? Instead of that, do a ‘new map discovery’ one so you can learn the new maps if you want to.
As the ‘it’s only QP’ people tell me, you can’t decide how you want your enemies or allies to play.
Sounds like you wanted a death match, and got a DEATH match!
