i have to ask, is there a tank that could stand against Bastian? genuine question… i don’t like the idea that we need to take cover when bastian is in centry mode… that ability has a short cool down and its just fair coz we will losing all that precious time…

Rein just has a barrier and no ranged damage, so Bastion can be effective against him. Sigma has a barrier, but also grasp and rock, which are both very effective against Bastion. And his damage has some range to it on top of that

Dva, sigma, Orisa absolutely annihilate bastion (their defensive abilities don’t have a limit on how much damage they can block + Sig and Orisa have stuns which can waste the bastions sentry timer) as for the others the cooldown isn’t that short so you can force him to waste sentry then wreck him in the 12 seconds he is stuck in recon mode.

What? No. Reinhardt is an honest tank. Sigma is a cheesy tank. The only thing they share in common is that they have access to a barrier. But even the values and how you use the barriers are entirely different. Bastion does “counter” Reinhardt by inconveniencing him and forcing him to play cover more often than not. And to that extent, he does similar to Sigma. That might be more or less what you are thinking of.

really??? i have had tanks tell our DPS that bastian counters DVA…
yea… I have never played tank… but what I heard from tank players is that bastian counters Rein because he can shred Rein’s shield… your reasoning makes much more sense…

Bastion may counter Rein, but that certainly doesn’t mean I haven’t outplayed them on him. A lot. Even while there are other counters present

Bastions tank form is like 3x as long as D.VA has DM, she cant shoot and DM at the same time so technically this is a DPS skill issue. Its your jobs to deal with Bastion.
Bastion is quite bad imo. He is easy to shot and has no movement. You just hide when he is on shutshut form and then dive him when he stands up. Except for Winston you can counter him with almost all the other tanks unless he is fully pocketed. Rein and Zarya included
You don’t need to DM entire tank form. Just enough to deny all his value. Then use boosters and delete his tank sized hit box

I’d like to add Mauga and Hoggert, though they’re kinda toss ups. They both have heckin chonkin hitboxes, so Bastion only has to aim in their general direction, but
If Mauga just powers through both miniguns blazing, Bastion melts like a hot stick of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Cat Milk Butter. Armor don’t mean jack when every shot is a crit!
Hog is more of a toss up. As long as Bastion isn’t in or can’t go Tank Forme, then Hog should get it. Otherwise, it’s debatable in a 1v1 and depends.
For similar reasons (large output of damage + healing) maybe Queenie?

Bastion counters Zarya we’ve even had an entire meta based on this match up.

Zarya gets charge from spam, now it will depend on how good a zarya is vs the bastion.
