Dear Symmetra mains: SYMMETRA'S BEAM HAS 195 DPS

Okay so I’ve been posting this — They buffed Symmetra's primary fire...for real — in a couple of Symmetra threads now. For some reason it never gets much attention. I don’t have any video recording software so I never made a video. But now I finally found a video that can support the claim that Symmetra’s beam is actually ~65/130/195 instead of 60/120/180.

Muda Muda broke Reinhardt’s 2000 health barrier in ~11.9 seconds. 60 x 1.66667 + 120 x 1.66667 + 180 x (11.9 - 1.66667 - 1.66667) can be simplified to (11.9 - 1.66667) x 180. That equals to 1842 damage, which is not enough to break Reinhardt’s barrier.

If you replace 180 with 195, you get 1995.5. That’s pretty much exactly Reinhardt’s barrier. The only way Muda Muda could’ve broken Reinhardt’s barrier in ~11.9 seconds is if the beam damage was 65/130/195.

Actually that video was showing that she isn’t very good at breaking them. And the purpose of this post is to prove that Sym’s beam has 195 dps, not 180. I was just using that video as an example because it was recording.

That would require disgruntled formerly Diamond-GM now Gold Symmetra mains who were terrorizing the upper echelon of matchmaking to move past the shock and denial stages of grief.

I miss old symmetra only because no one said that she was a shield breaker hero back then. And getting close to reinhardt as symmetra was abvious loss in typical 1v1 for her :stuck_out_tongue:

180 dps. If the Devs say it has 195 dps then i’ll believe you.

It would have been in the patch notes.

How long did it take you to get over the shock and denial of losing to a “no skill hero” like Symmetra?

how else would you explain symmetra dealing 2000 damage in 11.9 seconds? I did They buffed Symmetra's primary fire...for real this test 3 months ago and got 195. The wiki said 192 which is close enough. It got changed to 195 too.

Most Symm mains are only going by what the Devs have been said or posted about the damage!

Why would they hide this info from us? By simply adding it in the patch note will clarify this and probably stop so many symm mains from asking for a beam damage buff!
Cant blame them for being oblivious when the official info are saying its 60/120/180.

Idk what happened. Either a stealth buff or they messed up the patch notes for the rework.

It’s definitely 195 now tho.

She should have had this from the start yet for some reason they made some stealth buff that werent in the patch notes.
Im still mad that the orbs are not traveling in 30.

They really need to clear this up tho!

Conclusion: Sym should be buffed

Sometimes they mess up patch notes and leave things out.

For tick rates maybe. Have they ever changed damage before and not put it in patchnotes?

Rein’s TTK Symmetra is so short, shooting him is going to get you killed before you put a dent in Rein. Symmetra has a charge up mechanic. No sane player is ever going to allow her to build it up.

Until confirmed officially I’m still going to say its 180DPS. The wiki doesn’t even list the tickrate anymore so we have no idea what that is either.

she’s still too squishy to fully utilize it, and 15/s doesn’t change much of anything that actually matters for her

i don’t understand why this is such a big debate
