Dear Overwatch. YOUR PHYSICS ARE WRONG

So today I’ve been looking at some of the characters lore… And let me tell you it’s stupid, I mainly going to rant about Symmetra because I’m not advanced in biology to talk about Mercy.

Symmetra’s Explanation, According to the gamepedia it’s her “light-bending Photon Projector” That can bend light particles (Just call em photons) and make them solid… WTF… First off, photons don’t have a physical form… Next thing is the fact that she shoots light which takes time to do, according to the theory of relativity, THIS SHOULDN’T HAPPEN… Light first of all is a constant speed which can be slowed down using atoms, but I don’t see symmetra shooting solid balls… The next thing that happens is the color which usually happens when your eyes perceive light in the visible spectrum, but our bad boy symmetra here doesn’t have any lenses on her hands which is the only way you can change the colour of light when it enters the visible spectrum… To summarise she shouldn’t exist. Thanks for reading, and goodnight.

Zarya creates blackhole though.

Out of all the silly concepts you could have ranted about, you pick Symmetra’s hard light? lol

You have a monkey from space who can talk.
A cyborg ninja.
A sentient floating robot.
A DJ who shoots music.
and a 19 year old gamer in a giant mech…

and you’re questioning the physics of Hard Light?

Nobody will talk about the fact that if sombra hacks soldier he literally cant run

Stop trying to find logic in fiction. It doesn’t work and makes you look bad.

all of those are in the realm of possibility . the hard light is actually kind of imposible

I mean, Genji technically has the force of several megaton nukes to double jump.
It was broken down a while ago, I can’t post the link so just search “genji double jump physics busting”

hahahahaha the way you worded this made me laugh so hard

umm pretty sure scientists have created solid photons. do a quick google search

also while we’re talking these things, it doesn’t make sense that tracer can blink to another platform separated by 30 meters of water by skipping time, or reaper, moira, orisa escaping the grasp of a black hole

Lucio is worse.

The energy required to make sound do what he does with it would create enough heat and energy to kill everyone around him.

There is a video series on youtube, from a channel called shoddycast that does “the science behind” episodes. One of them was on Lucio. With some fancy math equations he determined Lucio would essentially need small nuclear explosions inside his gun to boop people.

Also wouldn’t light always travel at a consistent speed (the speed of light)? In order words, her light spheres she generate should also travel at the speed of light which would make it almost “hit scan” at the range it is being used.

Honestly, I’m a science graduate and I’m ok with it.

Light has actually been slowed down in a vacuum tube. I’m wayyyy too stupid to explain it, but it’s an interesting video. Try searching it.

Edit: Also, the speed of light would be hit scan. The speed of light is way faster than Widow’s bullets.

Overwatch is based in a Science fiction universe where a small bird can reprogram AI code with a few pecks of a beak and a small twig.

That’s interesting. But does that mean light travel’s slower in the vacum of space? I know that light bends due to intense gravity but I did not know that the speed would be affected. I’ll check it out. Thanks.

You don’t say? There is a time traveling lesbian Bugs Bunny and a drug addict that jumps on explosive mines. Nobody was expecting realism in this game.

Wait so what are Hanzo’s dragons made out of, then?
