The game is “more popular” now (based on Xbox charts) than it was 2 years ago during 6v6.

they dont care about what anyone wants…wouldnt be surprised if they decide to put the game behind the xbox live gold paywall no matter the console

The game also recieves much more regular updates than it did back then.
Whether 6v6 would bring people back though I still think is questionable even though I think 6v6 was healthier for the game.

I dont want to be that guy, but…
What do you think, a game that gets updates every few weeks, compared to a game that didnt get an update for 3 years, which is more popular.
Its not a fair fight, OW2 gets Heroes, Skins, Events, Maps, Modes, Balance Patches, Cinematics, Comics.
OW1 got Echo in 2020 and then a balance patch every 4 months and then 3 years later Overwatch 2 
Back when it did get patches and content, it WAS popular.

If that happens, I will be back on the grind again.
I used to play Duo Tank with a friend in 2019, he didnt play much OW but it was very fun.
In 5v5 we cant do that anymore, he also doesnt like 5v5, its stupid that 1 tank is alone, dies and your team gets run over lol.
Miss those times.

I hated to go from 6v6 zo 5v5, but tbh, I got used to it and I don´t wanna again change my playstyle, muscle memory and stuff…
I got used to being a more “fighting” support main, than just being passive in the backline.
I would prefer not to have another major change again.

Ya ya I lovvvvved duo tanking. It was my favorite part of the game. I count at least $500 in skins I would have bought if 6v6 was still in the game, but it’s not and I’m not spending a dime until 6v6 is returned.
I know I’m just one person, but I truly think this game would make more money if 6v6 was the primary game mode, or even if it was just available as an option in arcade.

2 things. They’ve already said Activision Blizzard will continue to run as a separate entity. So they will just have less upper management interference. Which is good.
As for firing… Yes. But thats why they sold it. It is cheaper to buy him out than it is to fire him. He’ll still be around for about 1 months to oversee the handover.
Things that OW1 had:
- Good Gameplay
- Content was coming every few weeks
- Decent balance patches
- Cool Events
- Easy way to get skins
We lost Gameplay because patches went to **** (Devs were horrible at balance, but Goats and 2x Shield were fixable, not a 6v6 issue).
Content started to slow down in 2018 (Thanks OW2 development 
) and it completly stopped in 2020.
Cool Events were the same after 1 year.
Skins were easy to obtain through all of Overwatch 1, good job Blizzard.
Things that OW2 has:
- “Ok Gameplay” (I very much hate 5v5, my main role, Tank, feels awful)
- Content is coming all the time
- Decent balance patches
- Fast Patches
- Cool Events (They are not big events though)
- Pay for Skins
- And the big one Free 2 Play
The only reason more people play OW2 or actively play OW2 is because of 1. Content and 2. F2P
If we would have gotten New Heroes, New Maps, New Modes, Fast Patches, Cool Events AND Free 2 Play for Overwatch 1 in like 2020, it would have been more popular by a lot imo.

I think so too, OW1 was truly special.
But, upper management wanted a Sequel and you cant make a Sequel without unecessary change to here we are.
I imagine I spent about, 150 hours on OW2 in the last year. If it were 6v6 it would have been 3x - 4x that amount and i would have bought skins.
Its funny though, you see some streamers complain about tank, but god forbid they say 6v6 was better. Some Korean/Japanese players do say it though which is nice

Some clown got it in their head that the game shouldn’t be like Titan/OW1 and that the game’s true creative purpose was to be more like Valorant. Which has for the most part crashed and burned despite whatever delusions they’re using to justify still going in this direction.

Ok, one of the reasons
I someone telling me Overwatch is suppose to be a fast-paced shooter.
Overwatch, a game where a giant German man with a shield and hammer rushes at you or a flying rocket lady shoots hell down on you.
If you want a fast paced shooter, play Apex or Fortnite.
But Overwatch at its PEAK is a FPS with Moba elements, with the perfect amount of Protection, CC, Healing, Mobility, etc.
