Enforcing an ideology in government school education is a very dangerous road to travel; especially regarding the youth. Leave it to adults to make their own decisions and be ok with people who don’t agree.

Why don’t people just write fanfictions and be done with it. I mean thats what shipping is for anyways. In a fanfiction you can have anyone be anything you want. Want Moira to be a gender bending mad scientist go for it. You want to broke back mountain mcree and genji together by all means do it. Asking for a character to be <enter sexuality/race/gender here> just for the sake of them being that is really, really stupid and poor character design. If the only thing that is interesting about a character is their gender, race and sexuality then they aren’t good characters. I agree 100% with OP.

What you’re advocating here is for 2 seperate states, those who accept and those that don’t.
This is extremely dangerous for any body of people. Especially when some of those people you’re exiling are probably just tired of the entire thing, you know, like people do.
We get tired of ideas. There’s no reason to make such a drastic punishment as you’d 100% end up with 2 different populations large enough to overtake the other. The difference is the locations and whit of those in charge.
People were killed for all sorts of reasons. History was generally very brutal and violent. We live in a much better time now, even if it is not perfect. No one has had anywhere near the freedom that we have today. Instead of rounding up people who disagree and exiling them, how about you just let people be and allow differing beliefs.

Science isn’t ideology it’s facts. Tolerance comes from understanding. That sexuality is a spectrum along with gender and other factors is scientifically proven and founded and researched. It’s a favorite conflation of anti-lgbt to state lgbt is some sort of ideology or is strictly politics, it exists outside that. LGBT existed before the US and its politics or ideologies even existed.

I agree with you, I think perhaps educating our children and teaching them about lgbt history and acceptance is a better long term solution
Sexuality is not a spectrum. Science overwhelmingly proves that gender and sex are very strongly linked. Biology has always shown that and always will. We base so many medical treatments and psychological therapy on those differences.
Instantiating a constructionist view of gender into a school curriculum or law is the definition of nonscientific and it’s dangerous.

Gender is not a spectrum there are only two… Pseudo science isn’t science. There are no clear characteristics of someone claiming to be a made up gender other than how they act and “feel” which can change because feelings change over time there are no obvious physical characteristics that stick out.

The thing I don’t understand is that they’re saying that Gender is a “social construct” as in created by society.
So are they now making up new genders? Why is gender a social construct while sex is not? Why is it called “sexuality” when it actually has to do more with gender than male/female? Why is one of the words in LGBT the word Bi, which in itself, means 2? Are there more than 2?
Personally, I think there’s only 3, but one is temporary (being trans). Gender to me is 100% dependent on what parts you got. If you got both, you’re trans or you had a birth defect.
I just have too many questions and none of them even have definitive answers. So therefore, without clear and rational evidence, it must be fake right?

Agreed, I’d say to keep it science factual as much as possible though, but history is good too. After all a lot of LGBT people were a part of US and World history but it was traditionally edited out.
Sex, Gender, Attraction, and Expression are all on a spectrum and all factors of sexual identity. It is a spectrum, Bill Nye Saves the World Episode 9 Season 1 goes over it in detail if you’re curious. We live in a world where people still deny climate change when it has over 95% consensus among scientists in the field so if you deny the science don’t really feel talking to you is worth my time.

It’s sad to me that you think cross dressers are trans, hello they are just straight men with a fetish for women’s clothes. People who identify as trans actually believe they are born in the wrong body/gender/sex etc. We are not fetishists who enjoy the controversy of being different for difference sake. And yes having a trans person in a game like this might actually save someone’s life, perhaps ateen who is struggling with trans could identify with a hero and realize that the world is changing and it might give them hope to live

A spectrum means that a person is not 100% male or 100% female in identity. Most people are majorly attracted to one side, sometimes the side opposite of their born orientation and sometimes stuck somewhere in the middle.
Its misconception to throw the multiple gender argument here, as its more or less irrelevant in the context of LGBT and falls more under Identity Politics(which LGBT are very close to) which is another whole can of worms.
Well how can we be sure these people actually existed and behaved that way? After all, history can only be written in present time, otherwise it’s unreliable. We shouldn’t go back and write about Alexander the Great like we know him right? We shouldn’t help spread this possible misinformation.

By the way you know what’s worse than pseudo science? Saying something is factual just cuz you want it to be true when there’s evidence to the otherwise. People are born, even on the physical spectrum with both or neither and it’s not as rare as you think.
Trans people have the highest (the highest!) Suicide rate among any minority group…especially among its young people. Ow is a game that reaches and speaks to many young people who are within the lgbtq community…i think asking for trans people to be represented in such a diverse game is not a crazy reach

Watch the movie about Alan Turing or pick up a text book on him. It wasn’t even used to be taught or mentioned he was gay and yet if you like your computer he’s one of the biggest reasons it moved forward like it did. We even have the Turing test, a test to see if a computer can pass as a human or not. He was also persecuted for being gay and if he wasn’t he would’ve lived a lot longer and contributed a lot more to humanity.
Your argument doens’t make sense, just because it wasn’t in the history book you’re taught in school doesn’t mean other documentation isn’t out there stating the facts.

Except that over 97% of people will identify with the sex they were born with, adhere to the norms of that sex, and that includes attraction the opposite sex. It is almost the definition of causally linked. Their are few things in science that is so strongly linked and sex/gender is one of them. Again, it is why we have tailored medical & psychological practices around sex differences. Exceptions to the rule do not define the rule.
If you do the research you’ll find that gender dysphoria and anxiety are very closely linked within the brain. Trans people are basically genetically guaranteed to have some form of anxiety/depression.
But on the whole, I agree that you can ask for representation, but I stand by whatever decision that Blizzard makes on whether or not they will do it, because its their IP and you have no right to force anything on them.
