I thought it was weird that neither of the content with Deadlocks original founders, or even the MCCree short, mentioned the bust in any way shape or form.
Could we at least know how long Deadlock ran amok with Ashe and McCree as 2/4 of it’s leaders?
What do you mean “bust”? Like a statue or something? And I thought “Deadlock” was just the name of the gorge (Deadlock Gorge) that serves as the base of their operations, was Deadlock confirmed as an actual person?
McCree’s bio:
McCree had already made a name for himself as a member of the notorious Deadlock Gang, which trafficked in illicit weapons and military hardware throughout the American Southwest, when he and his associates were busted in an Overwatch sting operation. With his expert marksmanship and resourcefulness, he was given the choice between rotting in a maximum-security lockup and joining Blackwatch, Overwatch’s covert ops division. He chose the latter.
Deadlock gang was busted by Blackwatch led by Gabriel Reyes. Busted as in “raided by an authority.” This bust resulted in McCree being accepted into Blackwatch.
I also found it strange that nothing about Ashe mentioned this. Not her bio, not the short, not her origin story. This must’ve been an important event since it broke the gang (at least temporarily) and created a rift between Ashe (who went on to rebuild and lead the gang) and McCree (who betrayed them for Blackwatch and doesn’t intend on coming back).
This is very strange, and, alas, indicates a retcon. Just like the Deadlock logo from McCree tatto: date of gang foundation here is very far from the moment when Ash even born. The new lore tells us that Reyes was beaten a teenage girl, poor fellow.

Deadlock gang est 1976 could refer to its status as a Biker Gang, without the arms dealing business. The arms dealing stuff almost certainly was from when Mccree adn Ashe were part of its leadership.
But it was weird, that we weren’t given any details about how it went down when it fell. After all, thats presumably when Ashe and Mccree last saw each other…
