Deadeye buff ever?

Let’s be honest with ourselves, deadeye is not a good ult. One of the worst in the game imo. It could work as a zoning ult, but McCree is so vulnerable and helpless while using it and I’ve even seen some people use it to reload while combat roll is on cooldown. When the heroes supposed most powerful ability is used as a glorified combat roll, you have a problem. In my opinion, the main issue is that he’s just way too helpless while using it. Thoughts?

well its got a ton of weaknesses but also can be the strongest as well so if he is less weak during it theyd have to tone it down in other ways as well

A CC resistance could help, (Sleep, Freeze Stunned), leaving only shields useful, but the reason why he hasn’t gotten buffed in this is because of one thing.

Deadeye increases damage on a player the more he has them in his sights, there’s no limits. It can deal over 10000 damages in it’s final seconds. It’s the most powerful ult in the game.

It kinda of has to be, especially if you’re good. If you’re good at his character, you might as well not use it until the push.

Sure, but that’s extremely misleading at best. This is never true in practice, since that damage can be negated by either walking a few feet to your side to LOS him, or doing literally anything to cancel it in the entire duration that he stands there.

Here are some other great examples of theory over practice:

  • DVA’s ult deals up to 6000 damage in one move!
  • Hanzo’s dragon does 200dps and moves slowly across the whole map. If you can stand in it while getting healed (e.g. zen ult) you can easily deal 1000-1200dps to the enemy team for upwards of 6 seconds. That’s like 7000 damage!
  • If you’re a soldier with 100% accuracy and 100% crits you’re doing a whopping 950dps! Insane!

You can see where I’m going with this hopefully…

I think the difference is when you use death blossom while say jumping off a building for a surprise, you can maybe get one or two kills because the damage is instant. But when mccree says “it’s hiiiiiiiigh nooooooon” and is glowing brighter than Solaris with the movement speed of a turtle with a brick strapped to its back, it’s a lot easier to react. I can see how you think it’s worse tho, the range is pretty puny and he’s easy to hit during it even tho you can crouch while using it
