i just got falsely banned 15minutes after getting ddos attacked .
i was on a roll tonight feeling myself and getting win after win , after 7wins in a row in qp i decided to get on ranked since it was going smooth tonight , played 2 games in ranked without any issue and performimg really good so i wanted to keep going , thats when it happened , we were selecting the map when the game suddenly lagged (the countdown was over and i was yet still stuck on the map selection screen )my ps5 then lost all internet connection while no other devices had any problems , my connection being as good as it ever been . i ran a test on my phone once it started lagging and everything was fine but on my ps5 (i was in a discord call on my phone at the same time ). the console is healty as can be and never have any issues internet wise . i then got banned for 15mins for this matter … all internet data i have says i just got ddos to get avoided by one of the ennemy 
and since the match never happended i cant even go into my match history to find the suspect account and report him . i am currently pissed getting temporary banned for something out of my control … can we punish these damn Ddoser somehow plz ? it really ruin it for me personally and it is not a isolated case

What are you using that would tell you it was a DDOS attack? I’m interested to know if something like that exist actually because from what I know so far, you can’t be certain it was a ddos attack. There could be many reasons why that sudden spike happened

I’ve had similar issues with massive lag resulting in a dc this season. An issue I had not experienced since ow1. I think I am on 5 or 6 dc’s so far. None of them suspended me more than 15 minutes because they were spread apart.
But I fear I may be close to a season ban if the problem continues due to overall number of server disconnects, despite my internet working fine in all cases outside of overwatch.

With all the information you have provided it clearly wasn’t a DDoS attempt.
My best guess is that it’s your router firewall blocking packets to your console’s internal network IP address. A quick way to check/fix this would be to temporarily place your console in your router’s DMZ so in theory all protections are off. I’ve seen a number of routers do this with gaming related traffic, one of my old ones included.

It might look like a ddos but its actually a GM invisibly joining the match to spectate a suspected cheater.
You definitely didn’t get ddos’d.
Other players have no way of finding out your IP. You play on a centralized server that didn’t share that information.
You probably just got hit by a random lag spike in the PlayStation Network.

lol, got my first suspension in my ten years of playing this game because the servers keep flopping. Trash game.
in another game i wont mention, you could obtain the direct ip address of the game server youre actively playing on, and a simple DDOS tool allows for a simple server shutoff switch, not “leaked” because its felonious
My discord group talks about this once in a while. Almost none of us have disconnected during a quickplay game, but we frequently disconnect during competitive games.
Keep in mind, we play 500 quickplay games for ever 1 or 2 competitive games we play.
