There was no reason for LFG to be removed. It made the game better.
Bring it back.

I authored a post that described in detail why OW is a team game and we need LFG. It fell to the bottom without a single response.
Keep it up man you can do it
Same. That’s why I’m doing this every day and linking back to the original post. Do me a favor and go like it
While I agree that LFG is essential for a team game, I feel like it or something equivalent to it will be reintegrated into the game when clans launch.
There actually is some sense in holding off until then. You don’t really want LFG and the clan system to be disassociated, and if you want to fix the issues that LFG had (which were 100% Blizzard’s fault but that’s a whole other can of worms) launching it as an integrated part of the clan system is a good idea.
In the interim, there are plenty of clans using third party solutions looking for new players right now, particularly healers.
You know, I keep hearing people saying that clans will fix LFG not being here. But how is that confirmed? How do we know that it won’t just be a team tag you attach to your battle tag?
And in any case, why not leave LFG in until they release clans? I’m up for changes, or any compromise really, but they could’ve given us SOMETHING.
Edit: I looked around after posting this, and from what I gather, they’re going to use the clan/guild system to set up tournaments? There really is way too little about it to convincingly say it’ll do what LFG did.
Well I can’t answer about the particulars of the clan system, but I can talk about why LFG failed and why holding off on bringing it back might be a good thing.
The core of the issue stems from the idea that it’s “fair” to separate group and solo queue. It’s a twisted, underthought idea that may make sense to some on the surface, but undermines the game as a whole. It’s a team-based game, where teamplay is a skill, but as soon as you start to try and develop that skill, it’s deemed an unfair advantage and you’re tossed into group queue.
In group queue, the matchmaker tries to match you up against other groups and when it can’t, it’ll match you against significantly higher rank players, but will only reward you with equivalent SR or MMR as if you were facing people in your rank when you won.
This fundamental flaw is what lead to the failure of LFG. Because you effectively have two ranking systems that are practically disassociated, but LFG forced them back together. I remember those first two weeks of LFG clearly. My clan, with tons of group queue experience already, feasted on these poor LFGers who, according to the twisted sense of “fairness”, were apparently the same rank as us. Every aspect of their game was worse, by a significant margin, including aim. It was a bloodbath.
People quickly got frustrated and went back to the easier climb of solo queue. LFG died due to a broken matchmaking system.
Now I’m not saying it will happen, but releasing LFG as a part of the clan system has a chance to solve this issue. It gives LFG new life with people willing to try it again with the added interest of clans, and it gives Blizzard a chance to fix the issues with it by either fixing the initial flaw that causes the problem or circumventing it with new clan based rankings and rewards. I very much suspect they’ll choose the latter, knowing Blizzard. They’ll never admit to a mistake, especially if fixing it might cause people’s (solo queuers) rank to drop.
bro?
just do both xds
To add to your points, the reason why I stopped using LFG is I’d spend so much time finding a group, and we’d all communicate and make jokes, but the moment we lost, people would rage quit, even if we had won several games previously.
Players can’t handle an OW loss.
I had to make a choice. Do I continue spending time to look for a group, or do I chance it and solo queue. I chose the latter in OW 1.
However, OW 2 is just different enough, so I’d like to see a looking for group or clan system added.
