I don’t know anymore how to counter it. It seems impossible: i tried everything, playing D.va, playing Sombra, playing Junkrat, playing Pharah, playing Mei but nothing. None of these works, i don’t have the minimal idea of how to counter this damned cancerous team comp. I want do destroy that damned composition without relying much on the team, beause 99% of times i don’t get proper healing and i tend to die easily. How do i counter that damned spam comp alone?
I’m Silver ~1600
It’s extremely hard to counter in lower ranks because coordination and communication are required to beat it. Don’t solo que, find players who can flex, are decent, and want to win. That’s the best thing you can do at your rank.
But the main question is: how do i counter that composition alone? Is there a way to do it?
There’s your problem. DM him with D.Va and then shoot him with Pharah / Soldier / anyone really.
Hook him with a hog. Shoot him from far away with a widow or pharah. Sneak up and reflect on him with a genji. Break the shields and he’ll have to move away.
There’s a million ways to kill him, but a lot require your team.
Tracer is the hardest counter to bastion/orisa in my opinion. You can farm pulse very easy and bastion is a free kill with your ult.
I actually find Zen to be very good against this comp because your orbs can help burn down Orisa’s shield and Discord on Bastion makes him melt very quickly. And if Bastion is ever exposed a right click can take him down in one shot.
because of the current meta like this, i think bastion’s ironclad passive should be removed out. plz nerf this comp, Blizzard.
Yeah Tracer is what I was thinking. But a Hog hooking Bastion is good too. You may die taking one down if you do it alone without an ult though. Then it’s up to your team to finish what you were doing. Which sucks. But that’s the game, you know? If they are using teamwork, only teamwork will counter it.
I never thought about this, so how many volley can take out the shield?
BTW i’m training Tracer because i find myself with this kind of heroes, i don’t like at all junkers
First the strategy only really works well on payload maps because it’s very good at keeping the enemy team from stalling the progression of the payload and amplifies the snowball effect. Even if you hold once they just need to win one team fight to start it back up.
When stationary it’s easier to attack that comp from an unexpected angle and shut it down. All it takes is one good ult combo or some good disruption to shut it down.
The strategy on defending it on a payload map requires team coordination. If you don’t have that then you want to stall their progress as much as possible and then run the same comp on attack and try to do it faster then them.
If your team is not able to coordinate well at least tell them that the best thing to do is try to waste their time so they have as little time as possible on the time bank at the end. Then them that the goal is to do the same thing as them on attack but do it faster then them so you have the advantage on the next round with more time.
I haven’t run the numbers, but if anyone at all is shooting the shield, it will go down fast with Zen plugging away at it. He can’t solo it, but presuming your team is half trying, it isn’t much of a problem.
I’ll just say this, whenever I play Zen, I don’t find Bastion/Orisa to be much of a problem. I can’t remember the last time I was full held by a Bastion/Orisa when I was on Zen.
Well, what about S76? He can do something?
Tracer. Ult makes it easy, but even without it, flank behind, empty a clip into Bastion, recall out, blink back in and a second clip will finish him. When he’s down Orisa is no problem for Tracer. If there’s a healer get them first.
If the coast is clear you can just walk Tracer behind him, the blinks give audio queues which can tip the Bastion off.
If you can flank from above and behind the shield Soldier should be able to take out Bastion, helix, shoot, shoot, helix whatnot, if he finds you quickly though you’re toast, Soldier’s heals just can’t handle the DPS. Don’t try charging Bastion with Soldier tho.
Reaper can teleport/fade behind Bastion, should do the trick, or his ult.
Symmetra actually works surprisingly well against this combination. Just hide behind cover and charge up your ball, move into the open at same time as shoot at the shielded Orisa / Bastion then return to cover. Repeat until enemy dies or until the enemy healers are stuck focus healing then have a Sombra or Tracer or whatever start killing other targets forcing the healers away or watching their team all die.
