DAMN it feels good to be an overwatch player rn

Communication every day basically, tons of new stuff in the work, listening to plenty of feedback…

Still being cautious here, but man does it feel good to be an overwatch fan rn. Keep this up blizzard, its beautiful and makes me very happy.

While you’re taking feedback… Random skin option. Please!

I know plenty of people arent happy with overwatch 2’s state rn but its impossible to deny that the Recent level of feedback and info we’ve gotten on ow2 has been good.

Gotta love it!

All they are doing is slowly backtracking on every change they made. A year from now we’ll be playing Overwatch 1 again. There was never a purpose for this ‘sequel’ to exist.

I’m not holding my breath but just seeing them say “you were right, we were wrong” was wild to me.

Not that it should be, but it was.

I think it’ll reach a middle ground, and that’s what they’re clearly trying to do.

Really late… but…

Big company said a thing and made promises after weeks of not saying things!

Complete faith in big game company restored.

Thats still good. If we can be playing ow1 but with frequent content drops, so be it. Better than what we played for most of ow1.

Yep totally

Not when the content drops make the game worse. This game would be better without Sojourn and Kiriko. The map pool would be better without Shambali whatever. The mode pool would be better without push.

Not every game needs to be a live service.

I mean thats just a matter of opinion

Blizzard does this all the time, and each time is a lie.

Shocking how many people forgot the promise of more communication, last year, that resulted in almost complete silence. Or the year before that, the promise of more communication, which was a year of complete silence. And the year before that, promise of more communication, which was a year of complete silence.

So when they actually do communicate we should say “oh theyre probably just lying”?

Listen, im cautious here. Mostly because of what you just said. But the overwatch community has an extreme complex where when the team does something good, they say “oh well its probably just this” and don’t give them credit.

Could it be lies? Sure. Doesn’t mean im not gonna applaud them for doing it now.

Once they stop, feel free to come back here and tell me you told me so. I’ll be ready for it.

It’s well deserved and it goes to show the value and importance of trust. It’s better to remain completely quiet and THEN when something is out, say “Here it is”. Right now, it just feels like kicking a hornets nest and taking advantage of everyone’s past care for the game that’s hard to rip apart.

It will feel good when they fix the things in this game that they messed up.

It’s good after 6 years learned to step down from ego mountain to admit when they are wrong and should address actual feedback.

But applauding them for finally doing it is like clapping for the Cowboy that was able to get on a horse.

That’s your job as a Live Service game. It’s what the rest of the industry does day 1.

Now that they have woke up in 2023 make the game actually rewarding to play instead of this matchmaker hell that gives me random voice line, charms, victory poses and other crap for heroes I don’t play.

Blizz can see way more numbers than we can. Judging by all of these recent changes, something looks terribly wrong from their end. I see a lot of damage control going on so they might be losing a lot more players than they anticipated. It’s nice to finally see some change for the better though.

It is, yes. Its very warranted from us at this point. But at the same time, i believe strongly in the value of providing positive feedback where its warranted.

And you can bet your player icon on the fact that if they stop again, I’ll call them out on it.

Overwatch 1 with the new shop

I’m convinced the original purpose of the sequel was to get around the “free updates” promise of OW1 and start selling PvE maps.

I’m with you on this one. It’s great that we are seeing changes, communication, and reversals of unpopular decisions, but I doubt it from direct feedback. I suspect player numbers or shop purchases have dropped well below targets, and they are scrambling to find course corrections.

I’m also a bit concerned that it will take months to remove map pools. Which points to more spaghetti code problems. Or they installed an unnecessary complication to the map selection system they now need to remove or replace.

I honestly suspect it to be because they have season 3 already done and planned. Seems a lot of big changes are pushed to season 4.

Hey can I join this unnecessarily long quote chain?
