Dallas Fuel in the East

I don’t like to come here to openly complain, BUT moving the Dallas Fuel to the Eastern Division of OWL has DELETED my ability to care about OWL. I understand that the players are all Korean and want to be closer to home, however, they signed a contract with a team from the absolute middle of the United States. Now to watch the games of our “home team” live we have to wake up in the middle of the night. Dallas plays twice next weekend at 3:00 AM Texas time. That is just utterly stupid.

You have managed to ensure that the very fan base you want money from will have no connection to their home team. In my own protest, I will not be spending a dime on OWL gear, nor will I be watching any remaining matches for the season. You have made it not worth my money or time to care since you clearly do not care about the fans.

I would rather have a team that loses in Dallas than a champion team I cannot even watch or care about.

I hope others will join me in the protest to hopefully bring our team home again.

mate the amount of people who genuinely care about the league is so limited
good luck.
also I wonder if its the team’s decision or blizzard anyway

Plenty of people still care enough to farm the tokens, and that’s all that matters.

Overwatch League and how they operate has been a clown show ever since they left twitch. Probably longer.

I didn’t like it when Philly or LAV did it either. Teams should have to rebrand if they’re leaving their region. It’d be just as weird to have the Hangzhou Spark playing out of Ohio.

Part of me thinks they did it because APAC is free compared to NA this year, East’s best teams would be middle of the pack in West. But then they get clowned on by Charge anyways, so who knows. Maybe it was just to avoid any possible visa issues.

More than likely, it was a combination of Korean roster wants to play closer to home, Chengdu sitting out (at least to start the season), and Valiant coming back to West Region which led Fuel to get sent out there.

And, let’s be honest, the only reason most of the forum community tunes in nowadays is for free tokens to turn into cosmetics. Only reason I even bother to post my match discussion threads nowadays is, if nothing else, to provide an avenue for discussion on something other than the 1000th thread of the day on “REMOVE XYZ HERO FROM GAME COS BROKEN”.

Im a Fuel fan and while i understand, its a global problem. Most of the teams have to move to Korea because its just cheaper to maintain there and almost all of the teams are in debt already.

Changing the countries of the teams was probably the most hilarious thing.
There is cutting corners and then there is OWL.

Still don’t get too attached to it. Next year there may not even be OWL because they may not even have money to travel.

Dallas HAD to relocate or they would lose all their players because of visa issues or something.

you can literally watch the recorded stream after its over

not everything has to be about the fans, neither does it impact them a lot. its simply a change of schedule making you have to watch the streams in the early morning or just after it ends. keep in mind texas also has the outlaws. all you miss out on is tokens but besides that, idk how youre this upset over an esports team…

i myself watch owl from australia and the streams start at 4am for the west and near midnight for the east, no big deal tbh.

imagine thinking the name of the city you happen to live in is more important than the nationality of every player on the team. Better off arguing to get some dallas kids onto the team if that’s what matters to you.

When they sign a contract in that city or even in that country, then yes it is more important. You don’t hear any other sports team wanting to move their team to another country because they are homesick or cannot get their visas straight.

When all you have to offer is a name and money to buy people from elsewhere, you do what people from elsewhere demand for the money that you’re willing to pay. Bad luck bucko!

Guess that is true in OWL since they are not in Dallas. That does not make it right for the fans though.
