So I guess I’m a bit late to the party but I just realized there’s no real “fixed” schedule when it comes to the daily challenges reset…
I logged on real quick to play a few Arcades in the afternoon and it came to my knowledge that 3 hours were missing for the dailies to be reset (it was around 1 p.m). I was a bit busy the rest of the day and I came home 1 hour ago just to find out that 19 hours was missing until the next reset (around 2 a.m)…
I’m no rocket scientist but something’s wrong here, right ? I know I’m gonna sound rude and stuff but… can they make one logical when it comes to that F2P version of Overwatch at some point… ?
It’s getting ridiculous and tiring at this point. It’s like one bad decision after one bad decision in a loop. I don’t get the logic to be forced to log in just so the game enables the reset properly so you can then do your daily challenges and have the proper countdown…
It’s already boring enough to grind daily challenges on a 6 year-old game but now you also have to mind logging in each day at the same time so the countdown to the dailies kicks off…
No wonder a lot of Overwatch players do think devs and Blizzard simply don’t care about this franchise anymore. It’s like their biggest goal is to annoy their potential customer on purpose (and I chose the word “customer” over of “player” for obvious reasons).
Daily challenges reset 20 hours after you first login after a previous reset. So if you log in at 6pm one day you have until 2pm the following day to finish them. If you didn’t log in for 28 hours and instead logged in at 10pm your 20 hour timer would start at that point and you would have until 6pm to finish them.
It’s really only a problem for me on the weekend when I was playing late on Friday and want to get in some games early on Saturday. But the way this system is set up you can’t get screwed over by having your daily reset in the middle of your own personal playtime. It’s has its pros and cons. But if you really wanted to exploit the system you could technically get eight daily resets per seven day week if you logged in 20 hours after your previous login each time.
This is beyond unacceptable and completely ridiculous and illogical. Each player should have the reset at the same time. Imagine if that kind of thing happened on another multiple player game…
It’s clearly unfair and even allows people to exploit the system and have extra days of dailies than there are days in a month (if it resets every 19-20 hours and people are thorough about logging in every 19 hours to accomplish daily challenges.
it’s a bad system cause it forces people to log in very early the next day to try to make daily challenges reset earlier the following day (to make up for the lost time) so it’s yet again something that is very mind consuming for some people…
Imagine if the following day, the player can only play in the afternoon and the daily challenges haven’t reset yet… It’s really dumb.
Yeah that’s what I was getting at above. It completely allows exploit… I can only see the cons but well… I guess most people don’t really mind it…
just here to bump that it should just be a set time of like 11 EST or something like that every single day. I screwed myself by logging in so late that I couldn’t do the dailies the next day when I had time available -.-
sometime people work late and do them after they get home at night, then might work super late the next day and want to do them before they go into work.
Wow, i did not know that was how it worked, no wonder the reset time always seem so messed up for me. I thought it would have been at a consistent time, because not everyone is punctual when logging in to play due to various reasons.
I agree, this is a horrible system. Why can’t there just be a set time. I keep missing a day’s worth of dailys because of the wacky reset timer if I can’t get up crazy early the next morning. It makes zero sense.
Wait. So when should I be logging in? Usually it’s around 5:15 PM EST for me after work and I guess it’s worked out for me. But I too noticed the time to reset always being different.
Yeah it makes “perfect sense” that dailies are not really dailies since you can grind more days than there are days in an entire month (since it’s every 19 hours and not 24)… smh…
Every game in the market has daily reset schedule at a precise time… except for Overwatch… Go figure… But this is far from being the only dumb choice the OW team has made since the October big update so I guess it’s not so surprising.
I thought I was crazy. This is so stupid. I log in at 3pm when I think the resets are and now I can’t do the dailies until 7pm tonight. What? I’ve already completed yesterdays last night. They’re finished. Reset them at the same time each day!!!
They’re thinking that they are being generous, because you can potentially get 8 daily resets per 7 day week, if you no life their games like I’m sure many around here do.
No wonder I keep seeing 19 hours for my time left… and yet I swear that should show 23 hours sometimes when I log in. So stupid and confusing to know I can wait until later in the day, since I play before bedtime.
Why so hysterical? It’s just dailies. Just give the game some time and soon you will stop caring. You will find other and way more frustrating aspects of the game and dailies won’t matter. It’s just up to 9000 BP points at most every 20 hours. Definitely not worth developing a FOMO.
Yes, you can’t finish two sets in one session and then come back after a day off. But it’s not a big deal, unless your name is Karen.
