D.va ULT too easy to counter?

D.va’s ULT has way too many notifications to the enemy,
a flashing orb of death, a loud “NERF THIS”,
and a Hazard symbol that shows where D.va’s mech is even through walls.

To play around this D.va players try to find unique ways to drop their ULT and in the higher tier gameplays its even less impactful only using it to control space or refresh your mech, i vote to remove the hazard icon so players will have to look where the ULT is coming from and the glowing diameter of the Mech increased slightly.

Note: this is a discussion about D.va’s ULT specifically i know some of you have issues about her other kit but please save it for another topic.

D.Va is one of the strongest heroes right now. She doesn’t need a buff.

Its only easy to avoid if you throw it at the wrong time / place.
High ranked Dva players still get a lot of value/kills out of it by combining it with other crowd control or during commited pushes. Watch some of Emongg’s videos he manages to get a ton of kills with it at 4.4k+.

Her ult has no issues. You misunderstanding its purpose. Its area denial ult much more lie hanzo dragons. Its supposed to force people out of position and does that extremely well.

Eh id rather not because video’s tend to be the accumilation of “Best bits”

This is an “I cant get kills with x skill, buff please” thread.
D.vas ult is working as intended. Its devastating when used at the right time and the right place. It can be EXTREMELY useful even when it doesn’t get kills.

The topic is about how much notification you get as a enemy player of D.va’s ULT
its unfair compaired to other ULT’s

If the best players in the entire planet have trouble countering it i don’t think its a problem. Im talking about Poko consistently getting 2-3 kills every time he ults.

again are you referring to ingame team experience or just a video accumilation of best bits?

If you watch a full game of the Philadelphia Fusion vs any team. You will see Poko 4/5 Times getting 2-3 Kills with his Ultimate as D.va. Keep in mind hes playing against thee best players to ever play the game.

It’s fairly easy to read a situation where you can throw a succesful bomb. It’s all about timing, nothing wrong with her ult. An example: Yesterday i played against orisa/hog. The whole enemy team is hiding behind the orisa’s barrier. As soon as she pops her shield on CD, i will throw my bomb in there. They have no counter but to get out or die. I got two picks, which is big enough to change the outcome of a teamfight.

Use it for zone control.

In overtime people need to be on the point/payload. Use this fact against them.

Or if you have a McCree who can’t get an angle with Dead Eye: Make the enemy choose - stand still and avoid Dead Eye but die to D.Va bomb, or take chances and run!

Use it as a distraction.

Use it to stall by getting another mech back.

Be smart with your angles and you can catch enemies off guard.

Apply your mind and many possibilities become available to you :wink:

well yeah ofc, i just dont see why more notification of D.va’s ULT is needed than any other ult.

Mainly because its a giant teamwiping explosion.

With all the random visual crap and ult callouts / general noise going on it would be stupidly OP if they made it less clear. Especially in the lower ranks where most players dont have ears. (or so I have heard)

I don’t see any problem with it. They already buffed D.Va enough, she honestly feels a bit overtuned since they added her rockets. It’s a great ult that gives area denial and the possibility of clearing a point. I think the hazard icon is necessary because it lets you know how far from it you can be when trying to avoid, if they removed it, it would be far too hard to avoid.

It’s more of a zoning tool, rather than a killing tool. That’s why that bright flashing and the warning sign is very useful. People run away from it, and you can use it for clearing out objectives, open up tight chokes and refresh your mech without getting killed.

I recently made a custom game setting that might help you with bombs. Now I can’t check the specifics as I dont have OW here but it was something like skirmish mode with 500% ult generation for team 1 and Team 2 was just bots with 0 damage etc.

That way you can play Dva and just throw bombs for an hour. It’s a good way to practice trickshots aswell like throwing it through Horizon point 1 window from every angle etc.
