Right now D.va has the lowest winrate in GM. Worse than Torb, worse than Sombra, worse than Winston, worse than Tracer.
…but sure, she is okay. She is OP. She has been meta for way too long. She’s balanced and viable now (no, she isn’t).
This is a ridiculous state for a hero to be in. Sad to see one of my most played heroes this way.
(Btw I advocate for buffs/QoL changes to all the characters I mentioned before, and i don’t think they should be in the state they are, either.)

buffing her, or making any changes at all to her, won’t make her more useful in this current meta. Also, Sigma being OP as hell isn’t helping her case.

I don’t want to say “OMG buff D.va right now bring her to S tier”, but eventually she’ll need a buff or QoL changes. This much is obvious. Nobody deserves 45% WR.
She’s one of the worst heroes in the game. And it’s not just due to the meta.
Besides, D.Va is supposed to counter Sigma, not the other way around. It’s not just Sigma’s fault, she’s simply way too weak.
I’m not sure what gave you that idea. If anything, Sigma very intentionally counters D.va, considering they gave him the game’s first and only offensive projectile that’s immune to Defense Matrix, and that projectile happens to specialize in demolishing tanks who lack barriers.

He has no mobility, can’t headshot, and only has 400HP. Him ignoring DM with one ability doesn’t make him a D.Va counter, just like D.Va isn’t a Zarya counter because she can eat Graviton Surge.
He’s meant to be vulnerable to Dive tanks, especially Winston.
D.Va is obsolete now, overnerfed because of OWL and got power-crept by Orisa, Sigma and Hammond.
But hey, she still can nullify some ults! Less ults than any barrier tanks ofc and especially Sigma, but she can counter a clueless Mei or Zarya that cannot count to 2!

People complained about D.va so much, now they have what they wanted lol.
She is garbage, and a new hero was added; a hero that happens to be more broken than anything she has ever been. Flexible high HP barrier, primary that destroys both off tanks and squishies very quickly, solid CC ability that can be used from reasonably long range and one of the best ultimates in the game.

Well, she was overtuned after her rework. Probably up to Micro-Missiles and boop damage nerfs. I abused this fact at the time by one-tricking her into masters.
Further nerfs though were not based on power level but rather to reduce her pickrate in OWL. Viewers don’t like when hitscan prodigy has to stop clicking heads for few seconds or dumps Dedeye into DM.

By the way, D.Va was trash 2 months ago too - she’s just even worse now. 2 months ago, the only tanks worth playing were Orisa and Roadhog.
Want to go back further? 4 months ago, the meta was GOATS, but teams were already ditching D.Va in favor of Sombra after D.Va’s second-to-most-recent set of nerfs went live.
Even further? 6 months ago, GOATS was the meta where, while D.Va saw a good amount of playtime, was frequently swapped out for other choices. Moreso than any other GOATS hero.
Before GOATS? Grav+Dragon. No D.Va. Before that? Dive. But that’s more than a year in the past at this point. D.Va has been gutted since then.

Balance is not a game of musical chairs, nor is it an epeen constest of who got the biggest time in the trash. Just because a hero got a lot of meta time doesn’t mean it’s okay to let them in the trash.
Trash pickrate, trash winrate, in every tier. If you can’t see the trash in front of you, you’ll step in it.
