Does anyone else think D. Va should have an unlockable voice line where she says the Konami Code(
Start)?
There already technically is a recording of her saying it if you go to the Overwatch home page on PC and enter the code, but I’m talking about it being available in game(possibly unlockable by entering the code on the menu screen)…
I just think it’s a nice piece of gaming history that would add nicely to D. Va’s unlocks
She is 19 in the 2070s, correct? The Konami Code would have been ancient history by that point.
She still plays what is basically Galaga in her mech for her gaming emote. I think she’s probably in touch with retro gaming stuff.
It should be noted that Galaga was developed by Namco Bandai and distributed by Midway. The Konami code was not available for use.
It wouldn’t have been used in that game, but I just meant that it indicates that she probably has some knowledge about retro gaming in general. If she played something like Galaga, she probably also played old Konami games.
Or is it more the case that it functioned as something of a Candy Crush – a mobile game available for play on non-desktop platforms? In any case, it is almost certain that it would be probably relegated to a spray, as per the Shoryuken.
well we know via voice line that she plays 16 bit games, and if she is any kind of gamer than she has probably played a few retro games also.
Also just tried it on the homepage screen and it’s adorable.

Probably rebooted indie 16-bit games. Have you played retro? I can’t and those were the games I grew up with.
