Cycle out the oldest avoid player when adding a new one

It’d be a nice qol improvement, but sadly it’s nice so we aren’t getting it.

I always wanted more avoid slots but you could put them in avoid just one mode, two or all three. Like there’s a person I want to avoid in comp, but in arcade I want to avoid this person or I just don’t want this person on my team in any mode.

Up it to 9 and have it still avoid 3 people in comp so it doesn’t skewer top 500 matchmaking. Hell even listing the character they played would go a long way in adjusting my avoid list.

Maybe you should read more of the context of my reply - my request only applies to skipping maps. If you are DCd you would not have added a player in the game to your avoid list. The avoid list allows you to add a player during assembly and leave to skip a map you don’t enjoy within the first 5-7 seconds of the assembly countdown. Blizzard allows this so it is not something to be upset about.

Adding the avoid means you don’t get pulled back into the same game immediately after you left during assembly.

The fix is easy though literally wait 2 minutes and requeue .

Ya why have ways you can play again immediately when you can wait a couple minutes instead. Make a post on the forums. Watch a YouTube video. Text that ex you know you shouldn’t. So many options you can employ while not playing the game you’re playing.

Sounds like a self made problem for people who leave because they dont like a game mode or map. Your spot isnt always immediately filled. You dont get a penalty. Not sure why waiting a few minutes is torture when you potentially just made a team 4v5 at the beginning of a match.

Which sounds like a problem made by blizzard for not giving players tools to play in the maps/modes they like, heaven forbid players play the way they like- And lets punish them when they do, right?

Though, while were on the topic of “Self made problems”, lets not forget that part of what were talking about happens because blizzards match maker will put you back into a match you just actively opted to leave. Make that one make sense. How often does someone leave a match through the menu and go - damn, y’know what? i actually REALLY wanted to be in that match! let me re-queue back up and hopefully i get back in! Especially in comparison to people who leave a match and go yep, dont want to be there. Imma guess its probably less than 1%.

And to this i cant help but ask: Then whats the point? I mean it- genuine question. Is it because “screw em, thats why!”? Per your own admission, theres no penalty. If players are constantly up keeping their avoid list, theres no need to wait 1-2 minutes anyways like discussed- simply add a new one, re-q, and go into the next match knowing you wont be queued into that one because youre avoiding someone on the list. So genuine question- why. They can already do pretty much exactly what im talking about- what im asking for just serves as QoL improvement on the whole process. And this is only from that front- theres a billion reasons you may want to actively add new players into your avoid list, but the whole process is just clunky.

I honestly don’t understand why this isn’t already a thing. You would think that it would be. And why not 5 avoid slots? Surely two more can’t be that big of a deal.

Honestly if they just let us cycle the slots like this i wouldnt care. I mostly hate the busy work of managing the avoid list for whatever reasons i may want to avoid someone. Opening up someones profile, avoiding them “sorry you can only have 3…” closing that menu, opening the next menu to manage the avoided list, removing someone, going back to the person i wanted to avoid, avoiding them

Versus: “avoid this person”
[So and so] has been removed from your avoid list
[Such and such] Has been added to your avoid list
