Custom refresh rate isn’t working with native resolution only in overwatch

I use a 144hz monitor overclocked to 170hz, the custom refresh rate works perfectly fine on my desktop and in any other game, but in Overwatch 170hz appears for every resolution EXCEPT 1920x1080 which is the resolution I use, I’ve tried everything I can think of and have remade the resolution multiple times but I can’t get it to show 1920x1080 (170)

Anyone have any idea why?

170hz is a very odd value, and it’s probably the result of how the nVidia driver interacts with Overwatch. I’m guessing your desktop is not staying at 170hz when you launch the game. Or, if you have a second monitor with another refresh rate, sometimes that can be the problem. Have you tried asking nVidia?

Didn’t you just post this on another account yesterday?

I posted it on the same account but it got no response then it got buried (unless I was logged into my hearthstone acc by mistake)

As I said the 170hz works on every other resolution BUT my native so it’s not an issue with the game supporting it because if I choose a lower resolution it works just fine, my 2nd monitor runs at 144hz but it has no effect in any other game and shouldn’t have an effect here

Just for fun, if you unplug the other monitor, does the option appear?

Which cable are you using to connect the monitor? Which version if it’s hdmi/display port

Can you add a dxdiag here?

DxDiag instructions (click to expand/collapse)
  1. Press Windows Key + R, then type DxDiag and press Enter.
  2. In the DxDiag window, click Save All Information.
  3. Name the file “dxdiag” and click Save.

To add it to your reply here:

  1. Open the text file and copy all of the text.
  2. Paste the text in your reply.
  3. Highlight the pasted text and click </> on the post editor.

If your DxDiag does not fit in one message, you can post it on Pastebin.com and provide the hash code (the numbers/letters after the .com) in your reply.

When I disconnected the 2nd monitor the option I appeared, I changed it to 170hz in-game then reconnected the monitor and it still has 170hz selected so idk what is going on with it

Edit: Restarted the game and it went back down to 144hz and the option disappeared :frowning:

Dxdiag?

I can’t find out how to link it

I am smart enough to type Pastebin.com in front of the hash code

cu8ezLMD here it is didn’t notice the expansion part

Since it does appear when you disconnect your second monitor, it might be a client bug, a power issue, or even just a display bug. Since we’ve exhausted most efforts at this point, you should write up a post for the Bug Report forum. Most threads do not receive answers there, but they are monitored by QA and developers.

Also, you may want to disable this, since it’s crashing quite a bit:

Problem signature:
P1: OriginWebHelperService.exe

it’s known for chewing through resources if you check Google :grimacing:

In the meantime, I recommend going back to 144hz.
