Hi everyone,
is there any available source (or maybe some of the moderators can respond openly) to know why Blizzard still hasn’t release any API for Overwatch? I am particularly interested in stuff like game events to use with the SteelSeries GameSense SDK. Honestly I’d like those API for Starcraft and Diablo as well, but I mainly play Overwatch on PC since March 2018 (and I was a PS4 player since launch, I moved from macOS to Windows just to have all of my Blizzard games on a proper PC with proper I/O hardware and 144Hz
).
By the way, returning on topic. I already know that Blizzard made a commercial agreement with Razer about the ChromaSDK support but:
- the ChromaSDK is causing crashes to a lot of players
- the Overwatch themed Razer hardware is slowing falling under legacy Razer products
- tons of people are requesting support for other hardware and would be a big gift to your active user base
The final request then is simple: make public event based APIs for your games (start with Overwatch please
). I am a software developer, I am a SteelSeries user, I would make and support the GameSense APP for the SteelSeries Engine in a blink of an eye working out with the community on Reddit. I am pretty sure there’s someone with Logitech/Corsair/Asus/ecc… hw ready to do the same thing and everyone would be happy.
I know, if you still are tied by some legal bits we are doomed…but if you can do it, please: DO IT! This is a hardcore fan who doesn’t want to proxy the ChromaAPI and wants to properly implement custom lightning in his high earned hardware.
I literally dream at night to pixel-draw with lightning the ultimate icons when ultimate is ready…to have the health bar tied to my headphones or my mouse colour reacting to my shots while playing.
Help me make a dream come true (still hoping it’s possible)…
The world needs more I/O(s)!
