Hi!
Do custom games still award no xp or is there a way to get xp from them? I’m not trying to cheat the system, but I love just playing some quiet games and also using the workshop codes…reduced xp would be fine, but nothing at all especially with the workshop in, seems kind of harsh! Heroes of the Storm awards xp for custom games, why not Overwatch? would also be a great way to help the cause of keeping people inside and slowing down coronavirus, Blizzard ;D

I think you get some XP but there’s a limit of like 100 XP or something stupidly low. After just one game you’ll see “Custom Match XP Limit Reached” or something along those lines.

Blame the ones who used EXP farm games.
Yep, that’s the problem with Workshop you can create a EXP farm that exploits the system.
so they stopped that by removing xp entirely from custom games? really sad for players who just want to have a good time…
Not much else they could do.
Whatever measures they put in place, there would be ways to get around it (afk timers etc)
Not anymore sadly and it’s the people who exploited custom games by going AFK and farming experience are to blame, not Blizzard.
Perhaps a solution to this problem would be people who are punished for XP farming will be blocked from gaining experience in custom games.
yeah or if they are just afk-ing how about you only gain exp if you do something? or you only get exp if you win? i don’t know … but thanks for all the replies
oh yeah that would be a more simple solution 
You can still earn XP in custom games but you can not use any workshop modes/codes, just a plain old custom game.
The limit for XP is 5 custom games a day. You do have to be careful as the workshop modes/codes which give 0 XP count as playing 1 of the 5 games you get.
I remember back before the custom games system was changed so that you could join other peoples servers and crap (In simple terms, 2017 custom games) you could mess around on the maps and get around 2-4 levels pretty quickly but unfortunately, those days are gone.
I think in 12 months (aka 1 year) they probably already got the answer
