There is a serious problem with custom games in Overwatch. Today I was playing a custom gun game and I got kicked for being in first place (salty owner I guess), that really bothered since I was playing that custom for almost an hour trying to win. Another time an owner got angry because I killed a player and kicked me, I joined back to ask why and he/she repeatedly switched me from spectator to in game making my screen strobe (would be a seizure warning).
The point is, custom game owners shouldn’t have that much power, especially since most of them have been passed on by the last owner leaving. My proposal is that the abilities owners have (i.e. removing people from game, switching teams, switching to spectator, switching to in-queue) should be placed on a cool down. I was thinking 10 second cool downs in which any actions that can affect another player can be made.
I always get kicked in widow lobbys lol
im too good…
plus getting kicked in friendly lobbys because apparently i took somone place…this is beyond ridiculous if its with your friends lobby why dont you just make it private instead of public?

That feeling when you get kicked for inactivity…

heh i remember joining a custom game named aim training and thinking it was such but i immediately got transported onto the busy highway on the oasis map getting killed repeatedly while re-spawning. and if that wasnt bad enough the owner of the match was an overpowered sigma floating above traffic making sure that you died if you were able to dodge all incoming cars

Alright Jimbo, you got 2 options, you either die or you die.
Yeah, I learned to avoid private lobbies back in my D2 days. One way or another, it’s another Admiral Ackbar joke unless it’s with actual friends.

Have you considered just leaving?
This sounds like a non-issue. If someone is abusing the lobby, leave. Make your own. Join a different one.
I’ve literally only had this problem once before when both my friend and I got moved to spectators for asking the host to start the match with a full lobby. So we left. That was it. It ended there.
I could just leave, but getting kicked when you’re about to win feels like you being in your last game to get to masters and getting a de ranking 5 stack, awful.
Why? It’s a custom game. It’s completely insignificant. Winning gives you literally nothing except the knowledge that you won. Take it as a bigger win that you were winning so hard they had to kick you to give the rest of the match a chance, and move on.
I got kicked out in a widow only deathmatch being at the top. I was like wtf

most custom games always seem like powertrips. especially move and you die.
i remember encountering a bronze hardstuck mercy main who was particularly bossy
It’s a sad reason why OW custom games are not nearly as popular as past Blizzard titles. I know in Starcaraft/warcraft the custom games were more popular than the regular ladder. Sure a lot of it has to do with how much better the custom map editor was on those games.
But yeah you run into a lot of people who give themselves infinite health, or unlimited Ultimate charge while nerfging every one else. Lot of perfectly normal death match maps, that just remove Torb’s turret without telling any one. Or giving Hanzo 5000 health…
It’s so bad that really the only custom game you can trust is your own… so tons of people make a game and wait instead of joining others.
Getting kicked in widow lobbys is the most iconic
What if you actually want to kick someone who is disruptive though,
and you are placed on cooldown so they keep ruining your mode
The cool down would only start once you kicked one person, and if it’s a duo, the other member will likely leave with the kicked player to group back up. If it’s not a duo, the player can be muted by others; after all, it’s just 10 seconds.
Just leave those lobbies, it’s not worth your time.
They’re literally the game owners. don’t join their games if you have a problem with the owner running things. just look up the game code and run your own game lmao
Add a mutiny option, gives all 11 players 20 seconds to vote on wether to force the current owner off of owner and give it to someone random /s

That is actually an amazing idea, kind of like how CSGO handles cheaters and such.
