What’s the best common way to record your gameplay nowadays? I used to do it about 10 years ago, haven’t looked into it since. But I really have the desire to show people just how bad my teammates are every single game.
I use the built in game bar from Microsoft, not sure about others.
Edit: If you press the windows button and G at the same time it should bring it up.
OBS Studio
Not sure about other graphics cards, but NVIDIA also offers push button screen recording options with their software.
I’m trying OBS Studio for now, and it works great for video, but it records everything in the background and not just the screen. So you mostly hear my keyboard. I turned on push to talk, and that just makes it completely silent. Anyone have this problem and know how to fix it?
Been a while since I’ve used it, but I can give you some things to at least check out.
You can mess with the sound limits. It will only record sounds above a certain volume threshold, but I can’t remember if that means not recording keyboard sounds or only recording them when there is also louder noise. Either way, better than what you have now.
Also, computer audio and mic audio should be separate so you can tune (or mute) them as needed. The computer audio won’t get your mic in game though, so if you talk in game you’ll see your icon but not hear what you said (It will capture teammate comms). I’ve seen vod reviewers have issues with submissions like that.
