So I’ve started playing this game again and have been uncertain as to what exactly to make of the queue times given being on late in the evening and through the night. Well right now it’s 11:42 am on the east coast USA and at a quite mediocre SR of 2949 I’m looking at a DPS queue time of 9 minutes, support queue time of 6 minutes, and tank queue time of 2 minutes. I find this to be asinine. How long does an average Overwatch game last for, by the way, one of shooting Hammond to no avail or at a double barrier (Genji and Tracer aren’t exactly a hoot to play either)? Certain people will never understand that they are the lowest common denominator and a prosperous game cannot be made for them but can only be inclusive of them, not like people are playing tank at the moment anyway but supports are included.
Anyway, I’d like to start seeing an ongoing list of location, SR, and DPS/support/tank queue times. I’m curious just how bad the problem is. The actual wait times, despite the “<” sign, even seem to exceed the number given so add in the actual time if you notice it. The “under the hood” improvement Jeff Kaplan is promising means one of two things - 1) that in four years of Overwatch this game has had substantially flawed matchmaking 2) that SR spreads will be loosened and matchmaking quality will decrease in order for people to wait less. Perhaps people will be thrown some boneheaded incentive to chew on. I’m skeptical the “science” of matchmaking has recently experienced a revolutionary breakthrough that this game can apply and bypass hard numbers. I’ll be brutally honest, listening to Jeff Kaplan is starting to make me sick. This community is so weak and immature, however, that as long as he says things nicely he’ll get a pass for anything and everything.

On EU servers in gold as soloQ it’s ~12min … on NA servers ~8min.
Average 10 minutes. So its super long already there. Higher ranks have to wait even longer. But, that’s not all. Add in leavers who leave at the beginning of the game to reset the game, for example.
In any FPS game, 5 minutes is already reaching extreme wait time.

yeah in EU and Korea its impossible to play dps without 10+ minute Q
and then you’re getting blamed cauz you can not aim well enough, but how can I play well when i play only 1,5 game per hour ?

How do the numbers vary across different SRs? NA is the only region where they are under 10 minutes for DPS, depending on SR?
yeah in high ranks at least, but its because of OWL players
DPS times have averaged between 6-15 minutes depending on a myriad of factors but outside of brief moments it’s usually the longest queue by a factor of at least 2.
The DPS population is the largest population by a big factor, by my checks it’s likely at least 50% larger than the tank population at peak times.
This is why the devs trialed 1-3-2 and why the devs are coming out with whatever they’ve developed in a week.
It’s the entire EU + Russia and you often have people from middle east and sometimes even africa.
I get a little under 10 minutes on the east coast at the platinum diamond border in off hours.
at 4400+, I average [20;40] min Q depending on time on EU

I’m eu ps4, it’s 5pm here, and I just had to wait 20 minutes for dps. i"m currently 2300 sr. Last night 9-11 pm the queue was 13-14 mins
4400 is damn good, I’m surprised it’s only a 20 minute wait, unless you mean between 20 to 40 minutes? Not to say that’s an acceptable wait time, I’m just surprised it’s that low given some of the horror stories.
Given the population split I really hope whatever system Team 4 has for us proves as promising as it’s been hyped.

I’m looking at <2 mins tank, <2 mins support, <5mins DPS. Plat rank, noon, Thursday. About a week ago I noticed DPS que was cut in half. Not sure what happened but it’s dropped alot.
…Is this on the west coast?
