99% of widow makers cry in chat when i go sombra. I dont complain when they go widow maker and 1 shot ppl from across the map. They expect me to let them just take over the lobby? I bet if they were on my team they would be happy for me to counter the enemy widow. Its hypicritical.

I am going widow just to counter sombra. I build my ult so fast that reveals you and have a hit scan auto rifle. (I say this in jest but if widows just tried to adjust they wouldn’t have such a hard time against sombra really)

Sombra is not the ONLY Widowmaker counter. Perhaps the only one that you can play, but still… I am not even good at Widowmaker. You ain’t need all of that, son.

The funny thing is that most Widows only exist because everyone is too lazy to chase them down. They might be good at aiming, but they’re terrible at escaping trouble.
Always go get them, because they WILL swap once you let them know they can’t just sit there and play like it’s the practice range.

Sombra does not change a match by her presence alone anywhere near as close as Widowmaker does. Keep making the Widowmakers cry, that character deserves to be griefed all she can get

Counter swapping is part of the game - but its not fun when it is effective against you. I think we have all been there.

This. Also, assuming you went Sombra, OP, you have the advantage of invisibility. You can engage the widow on your terms.
I get it. I don’t like engaging widows either. But the 1shot isn’t exactly foolproof. It isn’t an automatic death sentence, especially if widow failed to charge properly. 1shot charges more slowly now. Sometimes you just don’t have time.

i do notice this…the other day i had a genji harassing me for a good part of the game, so i swapped to brig to try and counter him, and then he made a comment about me swapping to counter his genji and i was like “what…you think i should just LET you kill me over and over??”

Sombra is just a COWARDLY way of doing it, cos its completely FREE.
Sombra players are in my opinion simply bad players. IF a sombra ever swaps, its allways to another cheesy hero like junkrat. Never one were you need any skill

heh i never cry about it since i have voice/chat off and i have always loved the sombra/widow matchup even how really one-sided in favor of sombra nowadays. thats the thing i hate about the virus rework. sombra still had the upper hand before but now she has a cheat code vs widow
still if you are sombra and you cant kill the widow then you have need MORE training. LOTS MORE
its also embarrassing if you cant. even with tons of hours on sombra ill get that one VERY rare widow that destroys me. im like dam that widow is cracked
Swapping to Sombra under any circumstances is unethical gameplay.

Thanks for going Sombra and making Widows rage, OP. I might not say anything in the match, but I always appreciate it when Widows are driven off.
The downside to the mid-season Sombra nerf was the re-emergence of Widows.

There’s a reason why outsdie of the super low ranks, Sombra is not considered at all to counter Widowmaker, after all.

I have roughly 1,000 on Widowmaker.
I have zero complaints about Sombra being the counter.
Infact, I think old sombra was a better counter for WM. than new sombra.
Counters have to exist in this game. it just does.
Wrong, This is HARD AF COUNTER. Soft counter is 1 thing, there are already flankers like genji to deal with widow. Sombra just hard forces swap. And players shouldnt be forced to do anything.
Moira/mei vs genji is good example of what soft counter is.

Well, asside from “hide behind a wall/barrier all game”, and “kill the Widow enough that they swap”.
Then asside from Countersniping, what are people supposed to do, to keep a hero “in check” that has infinite range, infinite projectile speed, and infinite killspeed. That basically invalidates the idea of blocking kills with heals.
What playstyle should be used to Counter that?
