Cross play : Lock Regions Please

I play on NA, why am I seeing groups in LFG that are European?

I went from 30ms ping to 120ms. Thanks QP is now ruined.

Probably another attempt at cutting down on queue times until OW2 comes out

In a complete mess mind you

Regions are no longer separated because of the new Global Play update. Details:

actually mind blowing how stupid this change is and they think it was a good idea…

It is a good idea.
But the implementation might need some fine tuning.

What were they thinking?!

120ms - 300ms ping is unplayable.

I lag so bad atm, that I can´t even play and I don´t think it´s my internet. How do I see, who is from where?

Is this for all platforms or only PC?

My advice is for you and your friends to use a VPN service.

That is nice, but also not free solution, thanks :expressionless:

Console players were already connecting globally. Its now that PC players are no longer prevented to which region (Americas, Europe, Asia) to what datacenters they are connected to.

Exactly…
QP is the only thing keeping me from leaving this game, I can’t stand comp any more…
Now they ruined the last good thing about this game. Can’t wait for Halo to play, well OW it was fun.

We’re breaking down barriers.

A very bad idea for shooter games where latency is a major issue.

“But breaking down these barriers was a significant engineering task. Now that we’ve done it, we look forward to a future where all Battle.net players can communicate and game together no matter where they are.”

Could you please explain in a blog post how latency differences of up to 200ms are compensated without disadvantaging other players?
As I see it, game quality is bound to suffer as a result.

This is not quite right. China is, of course, an exception to this rule. (https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/776wdf/blizzardbattlenets_international_client/)
