Cross play console/pc

I don’t see the reason why you should handicap console players while playing with PC players in a casual mode.
All the modes where console and PC players can meet are all casual so what’s the point on removing aim assist?
Just seems like a way to discourage playing with PC players.
Or even custom games? Why no aim assist option even.
Apex legends, fortnite and other cross platform games leave it the same letting console players use aim assist even in ranked!
Casual modes shouldn’t be giving other platforms handicaps, I’ve never seen cross platform in a game that just doesn’t make sense.

People always bring up other games, but forget that Apex and Fortnite have aim assist enabled for controller users on PC to begin with. That was never a thing for Overwatch.

Console players are not being handicapped, just swapped over to PC rules that have existed since the game came out.

its an odd issue mostly do to aim assist being disabled on PC in general, so i could just be a by product of that. As in your playing on PC servers and using PC rules.

Be it that support for that might be re-implemented if a dev catches wind of that.

It’s a bummer for sure, and I’ve definitely gone from seeing multiple other console players in my games on the PC servers to usually being the only one now. It just doesn’t feel good to play without the aim assist when you’ve been used to it for so long. Doubt they’ll do anything about it, it’s just the way it is, and unfortunately you just gotta roll with the punches.

Aim assist is just a BAD idea to begin with. Learn to use the controls you have, Console or PC.

Yes, but, aim assist is on by default on console. Most players don’t realize it’s a thing until it’s turned off and suddenly all their muscle memory goes to crap. Is it possible to relearn? Sure. But if you’ve been playing the game that way for 4 or 5 years, it’s gonna take a while to get back to the same level without the aim assist, champ. May never even get there seeing how imprecise thumbstick aiming is compared to mouse.

I understand, you need to now take the training wheels off and play with the big kids. It’s been shown most players adapt like a different sensitivity fairly fast, no more than two months or so, many in far less time.

Players shouldn’t have to relearn how to play a game they spent years already playing just to play with a different platform in a casual mode. Ridiculous argument saying “take off the training wheels” when it’s a core aspect of defining your aim especially for 90% of console players at least.
Pc players have their whole arm on a 3D platform to adjust their aim.
Console players have a thumb and joystick. It’s not even about “getting good” it’s just not optimizing their game cause they’re lazy.

Im fine with them having aim assist, if pc gets an option to not play with console players. But that would likely make queue times crazy for mixed groups, so blizz will prob stick with no aim assist.

There’s already an option to turn off cross platform, which only effects casual modes.

I think it would make queue times even faster if anything. It’s just an extra platform to mix players with. In my mind I only see positives letting players use the settings they have been this whole time.

For pc there is no option to turn off crossplay. I cannot control if console players will be on my team or enemy. Only console was given the option. I was saying queues times would be terrible for mixed groups, as most pc players would likely turn off crossplay if we could.

lol no, aim assist was created because playing an fps with a controller without it is a garbage experience.

just play moira…its not like you need aim assist on her anyway

Those PC games also have a XiM issue on PC w/ MnK plugged into PC just to get that Aim Assist.

They hate going vs XiM on Console to begin w/. They cannot compete vs real MnK w/ AA regardless if XiM is dominating them as is.

The only thing enabling AA on PC does is it creates a XiM problem on PC. No thanks. Keep AA on Console Only.

My mistake,didn’t know that.
Just shows a lack of optimization for console/pc cross platform imo.

Well, I think they did that knowing that much of the pc playerbase would rather not have crossplay. So letting us turn it off would make queues insane for those mixed groups. So few console group with pc anyways, it doesnt really help queues as it currently stands, and from my POV I dont really see a benefit to crossplay. For the console players who wanna play with pc, awesome. But for me it doesnt add anything. If there was an option to play vs and with console players without them having to group with pc, then I could see it helping queues, tho quality of games could go down. And id totally be fine with aim assist for that, if we actually had options on pc.

Once Blizzard support MnK on Console. Port over to PC pool everyone using MnK and attempt to Delete XiM off of Console so y’all can have gameplay exclusively Controller vs Controller.

That’s the issue. Having AA vs PC is not seriously going to make Controller on Console competitive vs a MnK on PC. Y’all ain’t even able to handle Fake MnK via XiM let alone the Real.

Just get XiM deleted instead so y’all can actually have fun in your own little fish bowl. XiM should NOT exist on console any longer. We don’t need AA on PC just so XiM can be used on PC too. Delete XiM. Not enable XiM.

Console players also need to deal with xim players. It’s half our leaderboard, does that mean we just turn off aim assist for console players too?
Which effects actual ranked games and not just casual play.
You act as if this gonna effect competitive aspects when it’s only for quick play, arcade and customs.
If someone is ximing in Qp yeah it sucks but it’s Qp?!? Console players already deal with ximming. It’s not a pc isolated issue.

It’s a weak argument. People who want to cheat will find a way to cheat nonetheless.

“We have to deal with it, so a whole different playerbase should too.”

Yeah it’s “only” QP, it’s casual, but it’s the game’s main mode, in which people still deserve to have fun. So let’s not open the floodgates for cheaters who only have to spend about $100 once and can make infinite accounts, thanks.

Blizzard is at fault for allowing them to get away with it so much and for so long.

I was on PS4 for 4 years using XiM.
I want XiM deleted. Nobody should be forced to pay $120 just for MnK gaming on console.

I want it all to end. I want Controller vs Controller not vs XiM. I don’t even want XiM on PC.
