What is cross-play in OverWatch. So we all know that PC and Nintendo Switch have a different configuration than console PS/Xbox, but why when I turn off this feature in option for PS I have longer wait queue time in competitive? To remind you console players cant play with PC players in competitive mode, not 100% sure how it work for Nintendo switch. Playstation and Xbox has the same configuration right? Why isn’t there a separate patch between the platforms cuz game plays are different.
So in quick play all platforms are played together but this thing that blizzard had against console players using mouse and keyboard on console but yet alone we’re playing against PC players in this mode. If console players are using the mouse and keyboard why can’t auto aim feature be disabled when in use? ( quick play). Why on Playstation these players are not identified as if they Xbox, Nintendo switch or PC players it’s just shows a dumb symbol for other platforms other than PlayStation players. Someone please make it make sense
With consoles, the crossplay feature means that you can queue with all the other consoles. If you turn crossplay off you will only play with people who also play on the console of your choise, instead of all the other consoles.
Crossplay off = only one console type
Crossplay on = switch, xbox and ps play together. (Also means possible pc players in qp if they’re grouped with console players).
They should honestly just matchmake based on input device instead of platform and disable aim-assist in the cases of m&kb, but that’s something that the coders need to figure out how to do reliably before it can happen.
That’s not true when I turn off cross play the only people I play with is only PlayStation consoles only. If you do the same with Xbox the only players you end up playing with is Xbox players only. But lately I have noticed there are more Xbox players playing this game then PS players especially if you browse to the top 500 leaderboard you can tell the difference between Xbox and Playstation players on that board. If you can review their profile they playing on the same console as you if you can’t then they not. It’s really hard to identify which platform I’m playing against I can see the PlayStation logo indicating they plan on PlayStation but not the difference between Nintendo switch PC and Xbox it shows a funny looking symbol for these three consoles

Crossplay on = play with all consoles.
Crossplay off = only your console pool.
It doesn’t really matter if it’s an xbox, switch or a playstation player. As everyone should be using a controller anyway on the consoles.
