Cross Platform is unfair

EDIT: Lmao I’m an idiot.
I thought I was playing with PC players. I was probably just seeing ximming. I apparently did not know what ximming looks like - I thought ximming was that smooth aim with sudden “jumps” to get those janky cheat headshots. My bad lol.
Leaving this up for my fellow idiots who didn’t know. Will delete later, probably.

I have good aim for a console player, but I’ll never, EVER be able to keep up with PC players. It’s very unfair.

  • Aim is so much smoother on PC. A console Widow can never, ever compete with a PC Widow. Once you start facing decent PC players, you are essentially locked out of using certain heroes on PC if you want to keep up.
  • If you disable cross-platform play, it takes 30+ minutes to enter a quick play match. I don’t understand this. Console players make up 50% of the player base. I play ps4, which is about 20% of the playerbase. Why would any console player remove cross-play features unless they’re trying to avoid PC players, specifically? If 50% of the players are on console, why would it take me 30 MINUTES to get into a match? I suspect these wait times are bloated intentionally to prevent people from excluding the PC players. The game caters mostly to higher ranks and streamers, and those people play PC.
  • If you disable cross-platform play, you can’t join competitive matches anymore. Playing with a competitive handicap isn’t fair. There should be a second pool for console players. We make up 50% of the game’s audience. Why are we being shafted so hard? Don’t tell me that Blizzard can’t afford to run two servers with their $70 skins lmaooo. What’s that money going towards? Not good game design, for sure.
  • Console Overwatch doesn’t support keyboard and mouse
  • The only option for console players to keep up was with xim, but this is now bannable because it makes console aim unfairly easier than PC players (funny how they care about PC players getting shafted, but not console. Wild). Tbh I don’t know much about xim, but I don’t understand why we can’t have mouse and keyboard play on console without the benefits of ximming.

I’m getting to the point where I understand why some people derank. I’m not unskilled at the game. I just don’t want to play a game which essentially bars me from playing certain heroes once I reach a certain skill level/rank.
Mind, there’s a lot of problems with the game and I’m quickly losing interest anyway, but this issue is particularly frustrating.

I don’t see why this couldn’t be fixed to make the game more fair for different players.

You only get put with PC players if you’re grouped with one.

What?

You can’t crossplay into PC in comp. When you disable crossplay, I believe the one you’re talking about limits you to just your console’s playerbase. That’s why you can’t play comp - because queue times would be inflated and Blizzard doesn’t want that (as evidenced by any and all and every bad decision they’ve made so far).

Wait… did that change this season? Comp’s still a no go right? Anyway, 99% sure it didn’t change. When you’re disabling crossplay on console, you’re disabling your ability to play with other console platforms.

The only way to play with PC players is to queue with one, dude.

Exactly this.

From what I can tell, that’s only true for competitive games (unless you’re playing with a mate who has PC).
In quickplay, it looks like everyone is in the same pool - judging by the aim I see from most players. It’s insanely smooth.

No, it’s for both. Console players can’t solo queue into PC lobbies

Console players cannot play with PC players in comp. It’s only allowed in QP.

Probably ximmers, which is apparently being addressed.

Oh I see, thanks.
I didn’t realise how bloody common it was. I thought I was just playing with PC players.
I regret complimenting an awful lot of Widows now. T-T

I peaked in high plat or low diamond in OW1 before role queue was introduced and even I’ll say just deal with it. Bigger hit boxes benefitted everyone, but it still helped console immensely. In a game like this where there are SO MANY aim settings that they’ll start working against you often enough to become a nuisance on top of it’s fast movement, the only other options are:

Bullet magnetism for console on hit scan characters (it will work against projectile) and bigger or faster projectiles.

Or add movement acceleration, which would require a lot more time and effort to make lining up shots easier in a game where the system works against you.

Besides, last I checked, console can’t be matched with/ against PC unless they’re already in a group with PC. Then in comp, aim assist is disabled for some reason that makes absolutely no sense for various reasons, one such reason being that between equal ranked players, PC will win most of not every time.
