Some how someone in match chat was typing messages, but it was showing my name. This was during a competitive game. The first message they typed they spelled my name wrong, using lowercase characters so it made it noticeable. Then they fixed it in the next messages and it looked like I was typing. Luckily they didn’t get too toxic with the messages, but they started too. This is critical. This will get players banned. I’m not even going to play until I get a response.

How do you expect your problem to be addressed when you provide basically no information, other than what may as well be a fictional story.

There is a replay system. I assumed an admin would contact me directly for more details. Admins can look into account activity as they do this for player reports already.

It’s my last competitive game. I’m not sure what else to provide. The replays don’t show the chat log so I can’t go back and screenshot anything. This all happened while I was playing so not like I could react and take a photo in time. Not to mention I was extremely confused.
Even if I was able to get a screenshot or video, it’s my name. The screenshot doesn’t prove someone else did it. It still looks like I typed it.
The only evidence would be if an admin can view the chat logs, he can see at the start of the match, the first message typed spelled my name wrong. Instead of “FATA”, it was “Fata”. And the message was something ridiculous like “Fata: My mom is fat”. Then near the end of the match, they said something like, “My team sucks”.
Not enough to get someone banned but whatever this exploit is, I’m sure someone will end up banned for saying something racist or worse.
I’ve gone and changed my password, though I don’t see how even if someone had my account information that they would be able to type a message into my current match. And the fact that they misspelled the name points to it being an exploit that they have to type the name manually.
Hold in mind that 2 account’s cannot be used at the same time to play the same game.
Most likeley they just did a name change and started trolling. Yeah that’s a thing.
If you really think your account has been breached i recommend you enable 2FA
if you put enough spaces after like a period or something and type out [TorchFour]: (message) it comes out on the line below and looks like somebody else typing, its easier to spot as fake now that they’ve added a dot to the left of usernames in the chat, but it can still throw people off if you’re not paying attention

Interesting. Just tested this out in general chat. Maybe this is what happened. Wish replays showed the chat log so I could confirm.
This happened to me too. I reported them on overwatch but people reported me for it. This is a SERIOUS problem and i wish people would understand.

It really is not. Just report them for text chat and ignore it completely. Do not respond at all.
