With PvE being officially cancelled, the only thing that can keep Overwatch aflot long-term is if they do a TF2 and let the community create their own dang content.
Except there’s one glaring issue with that plan: Overwatch’s CCG tools are mostly limited to primitive placeholder assets. There isn’t even a map editor.
So help me Jeff, if the upcoming “Creator Workshop Mode” (teased in the roadmap for season 5) doesn’t include a map editor AT MINIMUM, I’m going to set something on fire.
There is an opinion that this is just adding some kind of mode (like Widow HS) and will make it official (like a game of hide and seek or the floor is lava)

It will legit just be another gun-game mode made officially by Blizzard.
I dont even see worskshop content anymore on social media so no idea what they are going to do. Havent seen anything come close to what stuff like tiny overwatch and parkour was but it will 100% be very niche like gun game was
