I played more last night after my initial impression and it didn’t change my mind, she sucks hard.
GA feels better, but spammable GA just means easier 0 death games for me and nada for my team.
The Rez change feels fine in niche scenarios, outside of those scenarios Rez feels worse. You purposely stagger an ally, sometimes it’s worth it like I rezed my Ball last point King’s Row and he stalled enough for both our DPS and Lucio to get there they and I were able to stall until he got back again and we won, but a lot of times you’re betting on getting an advantage/lowering the enemies advantage now for a disadvantage later.
I rez my Cass, he gets thier Ashe and Ana, those two will be back before my Cass is as an example.
This is less noticeable and aggravating if used on hypermobile heros (Ball, Doom, D.Va and Tracer have been the best so far imo) but it’s still just annoying and unrewarding outside of niche cases.
I’m getting like the same number of rezzes per match because I see no point in going for half the rez opportunities I have since there is no pay off. Bring back the 76? Why there’s nothing to shoot besides the retreating Lifeweaver and he’ll just die and TP back to wherever our spawn room is. Sure if Rezzing now means he’ll get a closer spawn for sure it could be worth it, but that’s another niche scenario.
Just imagine how many reports you would eat as StaggerBot2024. Of course no one is playing Mercy when her adjustments were made by a vocal Mercy hater.
Very shortsighted revenge if you ask me. We could have been playtesting an actual rework instead of getting our time wasted.
I’d expect her to literally not say anything at all or provide true feedback—she never shies away from that based on the tweets she makes that get pushed onto my overwatch topic.
This is agreeing with me but I assume that’s not what you meant. Whatever point you’re trying to make about Skiesti is kind of moot - she didn’t make the patch, just gave an opinion on it.
Idk bout y’all but I had a lot of fun using her and found especially the double rez with Valk to be very impactful.
It’s less abt “fixing your allies mistakes” but more abt keeping the tempo of a fight ongoing.
Tempo rezzing has always Rez’ best case scenario and with these changes Mercy can reliably rez when it matters the most, which is during a teamfight imo.
When I play that mode, if we have a Mercy, I’m praying she doesn’t rez me. I began to develop a new understanding of those who dread life grip, but this is even worse.
Life grip can be executed well, but this type of rez will ALWAYS leave the target dead. That’s insanely bad.
True, tho this version of it would be equal to 10-15% of Moth Mercy’s strength at most.
Still has a cast time (tho it’s short) and the targets don’t live long and at least one of the rezzes has to be performed without Valk to get the reset.
Which is rarely ever, given that rez’s CD is 30s but it gets used every 2.5min on average.
It gets nearly impossible to do so unless there is a very convenient corner and/or Valk involved.
But ur right, midfight rezzes have always been the most impactful thing Mercy could do.
I underestimated this change. Turns out 10 seconds is a long time in overwatch and you can definitely swing a fight in that time. It’s also easier to pull off so there’s that. Not sure which version is better but this new one is not bad.
