Crazy Diving Tanks

Has anyone else experienced this?

You’re a support and you’re just doing your thing, keeping your tank alive. The tank is really making you sweat trying to keep them in the game but so far so good.

But slowly but surely, it’s almost like the tank’s starting to feel invulnerable. They make so many risky plays, against so many of their counters, and they just keep coming out alive. And so they start playing crazier and crazier until it’s literally impossible to keep them alive. They no longer seem to care about maintaining LOS with you, they’re pushing all the way up to enemy spawn, etc. All inevitably leading to their deaths.

Now, at this point, you’d think they’d start playing more cautiously but no, once you’ve released the crazy in your tank, it can apparently NEVER be dialed back.

It’s such a strange phenomenon but I’ve seen it happen in more than just a few games.

This is what all the tank survivability buffs on top of support utility/sustain causes.

We’re trying to squeeze every drop of fun we can get from the role, because it happens extremely rarely. Have you ever seen how a Rein plays who feels very confident in his team?

I think this happens to my tanks, and too often. In both QP AND comp :smiling_face_with_tear:

Is it DF or Ball? Feels like Ball you’re talking about.

If theyre smart about rotating around mega healthpacks, what looks insane to you is really just great engage/disengage discipline.

If they always just come out alive…

News Flash: they’re doing their job.

This happens to me when I play zarya, whenever that 100 charge hits, I tend to feel powerful so I just hard push the enemy team to their spawn. I know rein players do the same thing, especially when they have shatter lol

I can definitely understand that, just be sure to peek us supports when possible, it actually feels awesome to us when we’re able to enable our tanks to such a degree but we want you to make it back safely too. XD

Last one was a Zarya, actually. I felt like I should have counter-news flashed with that tidbit but it feels oddly aggressive for zero reason.

Aww, I never thought of it like that, now you’ve made me feel bad for questioning why. Next time, I’ll follow that poor Rein all the way to hell itself so that crazy kook can swing his hammer to his heart’s content.

Don’t feel bad, we usually know what we’re doing/that we’ve stretched way too far and we kind of expect to die in joy. But you’re a real one for trying to help our crazy.

You know what they say, when one person does something really dumb it’s feeding, when 5 of you do it together, it’s a strat.
